Seeking a personable custodian to clean common and public areas, including floors, dusting, light housekeeping, and ironing restaurant tablecloths. Position includes occasional guest interaction, so customer service experience is a plus. Weekdays, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Full- or part-time depending on availability. A visit with the merch cabinet

Visitors to Swift House Inn are familiar with Griswold, the charismatic inn cat. Recently Matt at Wag On Inn VT gave him a lion cut and created a plan to help free Griswold of his mattes. He is an outdoor cat and often gets burrs stuck in his long fluffy fur. We were shocked to see how skinny he was under the grey cloud of his fur. He seems much more comfortable, but he hopes it grows back before the snow flies.

People often ask us what makes Swift House Inn feel so romantic. After living here for several years, I’ve come to think it isn’t the gardens, the fireplaces, or even the restaurant, although they all contribute something important.

It’s that everywhere you look, you find evidence that someone cared enough to make life more beautiful for someone else.
