Happy October. Happy Fall. Happy. Happy? HAPPY!
You know the feeling you get when you stare at a word so long it looks like it’s spelled incorrectly? You wonder if you’re saying it right or if you truly understand the definition? Perhaps that’s just me writing this at 10:30 pm, simultaneously distracted and soothed by the rain falling oh-so-steadily for the 10th time in the last week…
Regardless of what my brain can truly comprehend right now, I know one thing is for sure, I am HAPPY to announce that October is one giant birthday-anniversary-party to celebrate FIVE YEARS OF MILL STREET MOCHA! 🎉 I’ve been behind the wheel for exactly 38 months as of 6:30am today, October 1. One month less than the years-old I turned last week, 🎉which translates to 1,156 days of creating recipes, social media content and events, and countless hours of training & learning. Days of serving, laughing, and occasionally yes, even crying, with thousands of people from this community and even around the world. You’ve shared your celebrations and moments of grief. Sometimes brief, and sometimes as if you’re about to invite us to your holiday dinner, and we’re honored every. single. time.
When you come through the line month after month, week after week (dare we say day after day) we learn so much more than your favorite drink or food item. We learn who is going to laugh at our jokes and who will tolerate them😉, who is going to encourage our karaoke singing and who will join in, and most of all who needs the people on the other side of the window more so than the items being handed out. Trust me when we say we need you too. We notice when it’s been awhile, and we wonder how you’re doing. Here you are seen, you are appreciated, and dare I say you are so very loved.
I know the detours, construction, fiber installation crews and herds of deer can make it a bit tricky to find us, but just think of it as a bonus level to this adventure we get to call life.
