Words can't begin to describe how it felt to make the decision to close Cafe Josie. I never knew I could be so connected to something, and then for it to be gone. Charles Mayes​ I can't thank you enough for giving me an opportunity to be part of your team so many years ago. For all the guests and regulars that became a part of my life, I am forever thankful for your patronage and support all those years. We will miss taking care of you and sharing those amazing moments. I will miss my team the most, as they meant the world to me, and worked tirelessly believing in our shared dream...I wish I could've kept it going for ya'll more than myself or anything else. Cafe Josie has been one of the most amazing, and humbling, experiences in my life, and I will always cherish those memories.

This is an extremely challenging time to navigate for the hospitality industry, and uncharted territory for all of us. We are taking the following steps to prioritize the health and wellness of our staff and patrons.

1. We’re working from within to keep our team healthy, calm and focused. Cleanliness practices at Cafe Josie have always been and will continue to be our top priority and above the standards of the City of Austin’s health guidelines and requirements.

2. Cafe Josie is a small, locally owned business. We source our meats and fresh produce from local sources whenever possible and thoroughly clean and sanitize our produce. We have an advantage of being a small, locally run, low volume establishment and have ultimate control over our food quality and sourcing.

3. We will continue to follow reliable news sources and will stay informed about current events and best practices to continue to keep our staff and patron health our number one priority.

To encourage you to continue to eat out and support local business, we are offering a 25% pay back loyalty program. For every dollar spent on online gift cards, you will receive 25% back on a separate gift card to use at Cafe Josie.

Also, a reminder that we offer happy hour Monday through Saturday including all night happy hour on Mondays, $5 classic cocktails all night on Tuesdays, and half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Our Sunday brunch service is priced at just $30 per person for unlimited plates. We hope to see you in the restaurant soon!
