The Fat Oyster Located in Orewa, Auckland offering oysters and a variety of classic comfort food with a Kiwi twist. The food here is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced.

The Fat Oyster Bar & Eatery is located on the promenade in Orewa, Auckland and is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. It is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner (as well as brunch on weekends) and enjoy the beachfront. The restaurant has an upmarket, casual atmosphere with friendly staff, who will make sure that your meal and time with us is enjoyable. The restaurant offers outdoor dining just minutes from the water, as well as indoor seating for up to 40 diners. The Fat Oyster is best known for its seafood, but also offers a variety of other dishes, including classic international comfort food with a Kiwi twist.

Plenty of reasons to pop into The Fat Oyster this weekend!

Friday means $2 Hot Wings from 3–6pm, so that's a pretty good excuse to knock off early and get the weekend started.

It's also the last weekend of our Kids Dine Free school holiday special. You've got until Sunday to make the most of it before the kids head back to school on Monday.

Sir Graham Lowe joined us with Lady Karen, his daughter and a couple of good mates to celebrate a pretty impressive milestone... his 80th birthday!

Looks like Ōrewa is going to be humming this weekend! 🙌

The Waka Ama Long Distance Nationals 2026 are underway at Ōrewa Beach, the Twilight Market kicks off this afternoon, the school holidays are in full swing and there’s plenty happening around town all weekend.

If you’re heading our way, make The Fat Oyster one of your stops.

$2 Hot Wings are on from 3–6pm today, our Berry Bramble cocktail is ready for Friday afternoon duties, and Kids Dine Free from 11.30am–5.30pm throughout the school holidays.

We’re kicking things off Friday afternoon with $2 Hot Wings from 3–6pm and live music from V, making her Fat Oyster debut and keeping a bit of musical talent in the family as Zach Hawkins’ sister.

Then from Saturday, the school holidays are on and so is Kids Dine Free!

What an afternoon at The Fat Oyster! 🥂

Our sold-out Ladies Lunch is in full swing, and it’s fair to say the place is buzzing.

Great food, plenty of bubbles, lots of laughs and the absolute legend Sir Graham Lowe joining us as today’s special guest.

A huge thanks as well to Peregrine, Lorna Jane and Chambord for helping us make the afternoon a little bit special.
