Nestling at the foot of the South Downs, The Thatched Inn, with its picturesque roof of Norfolk reeds and oak beams, has spectacular views over the Sussex contryside to the Ditchling Beacon. Apart from the standard menu which includes chargrilled steaks and fresh fish,our special menu changes daily. You never quite know what our kitchen might come up with on a Tuesday or Thursday… 😉

This Korean fried chicken salad was one of our recent specials - a bit of a play on and homage to the Asian Beef Salad created by Head Chef Paul from our summer menu, but with its own twist.

Our Tuesday & Thursday specials give the kitchen a chance to get creative, make the most of seasonal ingredients and put something a little different on the board each week. 🍴✨

They change all the time, so this particular dish might be gone, but there’ll be something else waiting in its place.

So, what’s making your weekend line-up? 👀

A sunny spot in the garden, something seasonal from the kitchen, a pint and a few bar snacks, games with the family or simply a good excuse to gather your favourite people around a table? 🍻

However you like to spend your weekend, there’s a spot for you at The Thatched Inn.

And this August Bank Holiday, we’re adding a little extra to the mix as we properly see out the summer. 👇🏽

Saturday, August 29th:
🍦 Face painting from 1–4pm, DJ from 3–7pm, £1 soft serve for the little ones during the afternoon and £8 Margaritas, Aperol Spritzes and Pimm’s & Lemonade.

Sunday, August 30th :
🎶 Settle in for one of our award-winning Sunday roasts, followed by live music from Diva & The Nobodies on the Garden Stage from 4–6pm.

And there’s still Bank Holiday Monday to make the most of before normality returns...

Saturday, August 29th:

Our [End of] Summer Social is back!
🎨 Face painting from 1–4pm
🍦 £1 ice pops
🪩 Disco, soul & funk from our Summer Social DJ, 3–7pm
🍹 £8 Margaritas, Aperol Spritz, Pimm’s & Lemonade for everyone to enjoy

Plus plenty of good food, family games and space for the kids to play.

Sunday, August 30th:

🍽️ Settle in for one of our award-winning Sunday roasts
🎶 Local favourites Diva & the nobodies take the stage from 4–6pm
🍴 Fancy staying a little longer? Our last food tables have been extended until 8:30pm.

Bank Holiday Monday, August 31st:

One last day to stretch out the long weekend. Join us for lunch, dinner, a few drinks or simply an excuse to gather your favourite people.
We’ll be serving food later too, with last tables available at 8:30pm. 🍴

Arancini to start, ham, egg & chips for main and a crumble to finish sounds pretty good to us. 🍴

Our set lunch menu is a chance to enjoy a proper pub lunch with a good variety to choose from in Hassocks, with a selection of seasonal dishes to choose from Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
