Its that time of year! Young people are off to the world, and we're rolling into the offseason. We'll be changing up our cafe schedule to accomodate the slow down and staffing adjustments from 6am - 3pm, 7 days a week starting tomorrow (Sunday 8/22). The restaurant has one more week of lunch service, and can feed ya if you're hungry after 3pm :) Thank you all for a great summer!

Unfortunately, we'll have to shut down services while the water main is down (starting at 1pm). The Cafe and the Restaurant will both be impact. We plan on reopening as soon as the water pressure is back on line.

UPDATE: Water Main Break Reported on North Case Avenue

Due to the Water Main break that was reported earlier this morning, the Public Works crews will need to shut down the water to the majority of the downtown area from CASE Avenue throughout DOWNTOWN starting at 1pm today. The repairs are anticipated to take between 2 to 3 hours.

The Public Works crews are working diligently to make the repair as quickly as possible.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area whenever possible. Reducing traffic through the work zone will help protect crews and allow repairs to be completed more quickly.

The City and Borough of Wrangell appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while crews complete this critical repair.

Heads up! Let's make sure we allow some space for the WVFD to make sure we have an amazing show on the 4th this year! Please keep any patriotic pyrotechnic displays in and around the Stikine Inn property limited to ground only/kiddo friendly! Have a safe and exciting 4th weekend here in Wrangell!
P.S. kids caught silly stringing the property will be given free lotus shots and will be paid handsomely to TP parents vehicles! Seriously though, that stuff stains everything it touches... please ask your kiddos not to hit the building itself! We appreciate you freedom loving parents!

It's 2am... our hamfisted, barely opposable-thumbed leader is wandering aimlessly towards Etolin, coming down from the 8 shot (all the colors) lotus at 8pm... no worries, he's like a homing pigeon, he'll find his bed eventually. Anyway, thanks to parts long forgotten that had been purchased for a previous moody machine, he somehow miraculously revived the irritable Italian workhorse in the cafe without breaking anything in the process.

We'll be back it at 6am (today?!)... Happy Fathers Day, Wrangell!

Unfortunately, as with all great things, they must come to an end eventually. Our espresso machine has lost it's pressure to the boiler. We'll be diagnosing it when we can get into it and break it down today, and we'll post asap how long we'll think it'll be down (if it's a wait on parts, it could be a few days). In the mean time, we're going to keep the cafe running for food service, drip coffee, lotus drinks, and we'll try to keep up with cold brew. Update tonight!

The new cafe crew members are all trained up for our summer season and that means its time to extend our hours! We're here bright and early at 6am, but we're now open until 5pm 7 days a week! Come check out the "new" familiar faces and enjoy that later sunset with a late afternoon pick me up!
