St. James Coffee Rochester's only locally owned non-profit coffee house which is staffed by volunteers. At St. Everyone is welcome!

James Coffee, we offer all the features you’ve enjoyed at other coffee houses — cozy chairs, a fireplace, friendly baristas, Wi-Fi, fresh pastries, wraps, salads, smoothies, chai, and coffee drinks including mochas, cappuccinos, lattes and frappes. We add features and events inspired by Catholicism’s rich heritage — portraits and books about Catholic saints; live music on the weekends; a Eucharist

ic prayer chapel that's tucked into the back of the coffee shop; Christian witness speakers, movie nights, bible studies, and educational sessions about theology and social topics. Teen Karaoke Night is one of our favorite nights of the month! Tonight we were blessed to have 60ish kids come out to sing, play games, eat pizza, and have fun with other teens who love the Lord ❤️

Next month karaoke will be on Saturday, September 26th. Mark your calendars!

St. James will be opening late (9am-4pm) Saturday 8/15 for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

St. James Coffee is closed on all Holy Days of Obligation that the Catholic Church recognizes throughout the year.
It is why we are always closed on Sundays as well!
When the Holy Day is on a Saturday or Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is lifted, so we open late in honor of the day instead of closing!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 966) teaches that the Immaculate Virgin Mary, when her earthly life ended, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory and exalted by God as Queen of all things.

The Assumption of Mary is the 4th Marian Dogma which was proclaimed by Pope Pius XII on November 1st, 1950. It was not a new teaching, just an affirmation of what the church had always taught. The Marian Dogmas all protect the identity of Jesus as the Son of God.
