What a great day !
Lots of good food and a beautiful setting! So glad to be able to lend a hand. The harvest festival celebrates the best of Virginia cuisine, music, and community.
Shagbark served an Appalachian Candy 🍭 Roaster Squash Bisque..
it had red curry, lemongrass, ginger, and lots of love! We garnished with chile roasted , fresh cilantro, and lime yogurt..
it was special as these squash are an old Cherokee heirloom variety that my father grew in his garden this year!

The Homegrown Harvest Festival will benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore and The CROP Foundation to further their missions and create new opportunities for student involvement with the Foodbank’s new Western Tidewater Branch in Franklin.
Great to work with such a fun group!
A big shoutout to for putting on such a wonderful event!!

Our happy hour begins this afternoon from 5-6pm every weekday! We are thrilled to offer some small bites during that time! Pictured are the duck crackling popcorn🍿, the clam strips with buttermilk-jalapeño dip, and the roasted olives 🫒 with whipped feta.. we look forward to seeing you in our bar or patio soon!!

It’s that time of year again! We will offering butternut squash bisque starting today along with a few other menu changes. Stop on over on this rainy day for a warm, comforting bowl of butternut squash bisque. A Virginia maple 🍁 custard and brown butter apples 🍎 will accompany. Hope to see you!

Say hello to the Shaggy Smash💥 Burger! We will be rolling out a Happy Hour starting next Wednesday from 5-6 pm every weekday. The happy hour will include beer and wine specials as well as a small bar menu..it will be offered in our bar and on our patio only..this Smash burger 🍔 is a 100% ground tenderloin and will simply be served with our house made pimiento cheese and bread and butter pickles.. fries will accompany it.. we look forward to serving you!
