Some stories need to be told & this is one of them.

Meet Dusabe!

Through Carroll’s Kitchen’s Restorative Employment Model, Dusabe mastered her culinary skills — learning quality control, recipe use, and kitchen safety. But it didn’t stop there. She made a commitment to her mental and physical health, discovered peaceful hobbies, and built a strong, supportive community around her!

Carroll’s Kitchen gave her something she hadn’t had in a long time — realistic hope for a better future.

Today, Dusabe is thriving. She landed a new job, walks to and from work every day, and her supervisor describes her as having an excellent work ethic and being a valued team member.

This is exactly why Carroll’s Kitchen exists — not just to serve good food, but to be part of stories like this one. 🤍

We are so proud of you, Juanita! 💚

Juanita came through our program and never stopped pushing forward. This semester she finished with all A’s — and with just two classes left, she is on her way to graduating from Wake Tech with a degree in Social Work!

A degree in Social Work. Think about that for a moment.

She didn’t just rebuild her life — she is now preparing to help others rebuild theirs. And that is the full circle story that reminds us every single day why this work matters.
