Escazú Chocolates

Escazú Chocolates We are a Bean to Bar to Confection chocolate maker-chocolatier located in Raleigh, NC. We carefully source high quality cacao beans from Latin America.
(403)

Our retail shop and factory is located at 2409 Crabtree Blvd. 919.832.3433 We then, sort the beans by hand, roast in an antique roaster, winnow and grind in an antique stone grinder, to make the chocolate. We then temper it and hand ladle it into the molds to make our bars that are later hand wrapped. From the day we start sorting until the bar is ready to be on a shelf is an 8 to 10 day process,

not counting aging time and from the sorting to the wrapping, our process is completely hand done. Our confections are made with our chocolate and local ingredients, we utilize Homeland Creamery Dairy, Big Spoon Nut Butters, Counter Culture Coffee... just to name a few.

As you may have seen in previous posts, my motherland, Venezuela, was hit by two back to back earthquakes on Wednesday, June 24, and it has been devastating. We have released this Single Origin bar from Carenero, in Venezuela and we will be donating $3 from each bar purchased directly to earthquake relief efforts.

Wow! Your support has been such a needed breath of air for us and a much needed help to people at home. With the money you have donated, my sister was able to: buy equipment for a group of 12 firefighters from the Simon Bolivar University, the school my sister went to. With this equipment this small group was able to rescue 5 people alive, from the rubble, in one day. Another day, 2 cats were rescued alive, and life saving medications have been delivered to hospitals. The way it has been working is, my sister receives a list from hospitals or rescue teams and then confirms that she can fulfill and deliver. It has been thanks to you that she has been able to do this.
As rescue efforts start to unfortunately come to an end, needs start to shift. Just last night, she sent me three quotes she had just received from hospitals, for three different people that suffered severe injuries to receive the care they need and she said, that we can cover them. For one person a kit for complex pelvis reconstruction; for another, a universal tibia nail system with all the needed components; and for another, a tibia interlocking intramedullary nail system.
To be able to help in this way, really means a lot, while helping us help people that need it, you have also helped us move through this tragedy by being able to actively help, THANK YOU!
Very sadly, with natural disasters comes the loss of life, especially in a country that is ill equipped to handle rescue efforts in a timely manner, or at all. As my sister has communicated to me, one of the current important needs are disaster bags, if you, or anyone you know has a way to help us with this, please DM me.
To all those that brought needed items to the shop, THANK YOU, these will be making their way to FL this week to then travel to Venezuela.
As of now we are only taking monetary donations as for the moment we have plenty of needed items. When the need for items arises again, I will let you know.
If you haven’t contributed and can, please Zelle my sister directly or Venmo me. If you are unable to give, please share this, or any other information that will allow more people to know about Venezuela and help.
THANK YOU ♥️

Hi, Danielle here, actually, it is 99.9% of the time Danielle behind this screen. Today, I ask you personally, to lend a hand to help in this horrible tragedy that has struck my country. My family, is safe and well, and I am so very grateful for that. However, that is not the case for many, many, many people in Caracas and La Guaira.
These are two of the many ways in which you can help:
First and faster, because time is of the essence for many people in need of rescue and/or medical supplies, is sending money directly to my sister, she has been hard at work, acquiring supplies and taking them directly to the hospitals or rescue sites. This is a very immediate need and a very immediate help.
Second, you can bring the items on the post to Escazū. The most immediate things needed are of medical need, and I will personally take them to a gathering place on Sunday so they can make their way to Venezuela on Wednesday. All the other things, I will be gathering and shipping to the organization in Doral, FL, that is taking needed items to Venezuela.
It would be great if you could focus on the first two things initially.
And thirdly, please, if you have any Venezuelan friends, hold them close, comfort them in whatever way they like to be comforted, sit with them, listen to them if they need it… Witnessing this tragedy from far away is a very lonely experience.
A todos los Venezolanos aqui, les envio mil abrazos, se que todos los necesitamos y pido por sus familias y amigos allá.
