Join us for Woman Prayer at The Gatehouse on Thursday, October 29, from 4–6 PM.

Women of all faiths and spiritual paths are invited to gather in prayer. Prayer isn't about making yourself holy - it's about trying to sanctify the world you walk through. Let's create a circle of light of your own presence, a prayer place. We will build a central altar together so please bring a sacred object that helps center you in your prayer place. Sister come pray.

This gathering is led by Jay Cardinale, an artist, counselor, and body-mind arts practitioner trained in Hellerwork Structural Integration and person-centered expressive arts. Since 1988, Jay has led ritual circles exploring seasonal cycles and our inner lives through art, writing, and reflection. Her practice creates space for personal and spiritual growth, connection, insight, and self-discovery.

Suggested donation $10, no one turned away for lack of funds.

Good scents, good design, and a little something for the senses.

We're loving the candles from Species by the Thousands and incense from Misc. Goods Co. at The Gatehouse!

Hand-poured in the Catskills, Species by the Thousands creates soy wax candles inspired by the natural world, with earthy, woodsy, and unexpected fragrance combinations like Oakmoss, Mushrooms + Rain, Campfire, Pinyon + Lavender, and Santal, Cardamom + Amber.

Misc. Goods Co. brings a different approach to fragrance with beautifully designed incense made in the USA. Their distinctive scents include Grey Haven (moss, pine, seawater, and white w**e) and Under Hill (leather, to***co, cedar, and ale).

Two independent makers doing some pretty interesting things with scent. Stop by The Gatehouse and find your favorite!

Three years of music, art, good food, and community. And so much of what makes Morris special is the people who bring it to life.

Join us Friday, October 23rd, as we celebrate our 3 Year Anniversary with two of those very people, Khalil Jade and Yana King, for an afternoon of live music from 4–6 PM!

Khalil Jade brings folk, Americana, blues, rock, and pop to the room with her acoustic guitar, heartfelt originals, and familiar favorites. Yana King brings a powerful, soulful voice that stops you in your tracks.

We’re grateful to call Morris home, and even more grateful for the local artists who make this community such a vibrant place to be.

Sunday Sessions with Jessie Elizabeth!

Alt Americana for deep feelers and free spirits. Join us at The Gatehouse this Sunday, October 18th, from 1–3 PM for an afternoon of live music with Syracuse-based indie artist Jessie Elizabeth!

With authentic storytelling, poignant lyrics, and a quietly magnetic stage presence, Jessie makes music that sticks with you. Her debut album, To Go and Grow, was released in July 2025, and she’s shared stages with The Rainbow Girls, Hayley Jane, Abby Posner, and more across the Northeast and Ontario.

Customer of the Week: Noelle da Silva!

This week we're celebrating the wonderful Noelle da Silva, who will be leading our Pumpkin Painting Workshop on Saturday, October 17th, from 1–3 PM!

Get creative this fall with an afternoon of pumpkin painting inspired by Día de los Mu***os! Think colorful sugar skulls, bold patterns, and traditional Day of the Dead imagery. Noelle will guide you through the process, and we'll provide everything you need, including your pumpkin, paints, and supplies. No experience necessary—just come ready to paint!

Noelle is a local teacher, artist, and longtime friend of The Gatehouse who has been one of our biggest supporters since the very beginning. And now it's a family affair—her daughter Olivia is part of our cafe crew!

We're so grateful to have Noelle and her family as part of The Gatehouse community, and we love that she's sharing her creativity with us.

Ready to get a little stronger? We have a new class starting in October - Strength Training with Alyx!

This is a simple, approachable workout for anyone who wants to build strength, improve mobility, and get moving with a little guidance and community along the way. Using dumbbells, resistance bands, and bodyweight, you’ll work through functional movements like squats, lunges, rows, presses, core work, and more.

No jumping or running—these are low-impact workouts, with modifications offered so you can work at your own pace.

Bring your own weights, a mat, water, and yourself.

$20 per class
$60 introductory 4-week series

Starting Monday, October 19 | 5–6 PM

A little sweet, a little tart, and a whole lot of citrus.

New item in the shop - Kosterina Crushed Tangerine Vinegar, made with just three ingredients and no added sugar. Bright and citrus-forward with a burst of fresh fruit flavor, it’s an easy way to wake up salads, marinades, cocktails, and mocktails.

And here’s a simple dressing to try with it that we have been featuring in the cafe with our salads:

Tangerine Salad Dressing
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
¼ cup Crushed Tangerine Vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
A pinch of garlic powder
Salt + pepper to taste

Add everything to a jar and shake well (or whisk together in a bowl), then drizzle over your favorite salad.

Pick up a bottle at The Gatehouse and give your usual vinaigrette a citrusy little upgrade.
