Any business owner knows that there are 'behind the scene' events that happen in which the customers have no idea what is going on. Last evening (Friday, 3 July) was a momentous one for GTS!!! As we were nearing the end of the evening, with many customers patiently awaiting service, I was in the kitchen when I heard sounds of alarm coming from my staff! 'There's vanilla custard mix coming out the door of the refrigerated cabinet!!! Upon opening the door, it was a Flash Flood of mix pouring out!!! Y-I-K-E-S ... thinking it may have been an issue of 'missing the hopper' when previously pouring in more mix ... turns out a pump hose split and was spewing mix all throughout the cabinet and out the door!!!!
The staff was TERRIFIC... some kept up with serving the customers while 'dancing' around those who were doing major clean-up. Family members outside of the shop were called to the rescue and we had an 'army' of repairmen and janitorial workforce going while staff continued serving the customers.
A spilt tube was replaced and we were back in business, or so we thought! Not long after the 'rescue team' left the premises did it happen a second time!! Fortunately, my husband was still here and we had another round of cleanup and repair!
Today, 4 July, all things appear to be working properly. So here's to vanilla and twist being available again from our 'bigger' soft serve machine!!
Many, many thanks to staff on duty at the time: Ella, Micah, Annabelle, and Luci, and to Rich Meyers, the Nate Youngs and Tim Meyers families for 'finally' answering their phones and coming to the rescue :) AND to the customers at the time who may have suspected something was going on behind the windows :)
GOD IS GOOD - ALL THE TIME!!!
