Earlier in the summer we shared a photo of Lon Gove, a ‘Dartmouth institution’, according to an archival Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. We recently found Mr. Gove making another appearance in the college archives at Rauner Library in film reel from 1934 titled Life and Personalities at Dartmouth. In this short clip, the hotel’s chief clerk conferences with Mr. Fairchild, the manager of the Hanover Inn in the early 20th century.
