Go get ‘em Gabi!

This Saturday, Albany native and protégé of Chef Yono Purnomo of Yono's Gabriella O'Neil is competing in this year’s Chaine des Rotisseurs Jeunes Chefs Rotisseurs competition, at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. She is the only American chef selected to represent the U.S. in the 2021 competition, a privilege she earned by winning regional and national competitions earlier this year.

Join me in wishing Gabriella the best as she competes and recognizing this well-deserved next step in an already impressive career.

It's OFFICIAL! Rishan's Citizenship ceremony was this morning. Rishan represents the absolute finest in our industry. We are grateful every day to have Rishan as part of our family!

Congratulations to Mohammed Rishan on becoming a US citizen. After fleeing his native Sri Lanka during its’ civil war, he received refugee status and settled in New York City in 1999 where he worked at the perennial favorite Brasserie on Park Avenue before coming to Albany and joining @yonosrestaurant and @dpbrasserie in 2012. We’re grateful that Rishan has found a home with us and if you’ve ever seen him in our dining room, you know he’s one of the hardest workers in our industry. Congratulations on your citizenship, Rishan. No one is more deserving. 🇺🇸

Team member appreciation post.

In 2016 Josh Turo (@joshturo ) began his career as a floor sommelier at @yonosrestaurant after graduating with a double major in culinary arts and wine studies from the prestigious @theculinaryinstituteofamerica at Greystone in the idyllic Napa Valley.

Since that time Josh has risen to Head Sommelier and dining room manager. He leads the service team nightly and is always willing to accept any and all challenges that come his way.

He’s often the first one in and the last one out and he does it all with a positive attitude and a winning smile. Throughout the pandemic, Josh also selflessly gave his time preparing meals for @feedalbany

We’re grateful to have Josh with us and believe his personal touch with our guests make every experience at Yono’s that much better.
