Important Update from McGeary's Irish Pub

We want to address an incident that occurred last night and provide accurate information to clear up any misunderstandings.

First, we want to thank the Albany Police Department for their quick response and assistance. Unfortunately, one of our employees was injured when a non-patron, who had been asked to leave the premises, became confrontational and broke a glass bottle, resulting in a hand injury to our staff member.

This incident took place outside of McGeary's. The individual involved was never served inside our bar and is someone we had never encountered before.

We’ve noticed that some social media posts and reports about this incident contain inaccuracies. We kindly ask everyone to consider the impact of their words on the community and ensure they have all the facts before posting or sharing information. Sensationalized or misleading posts help no one.

Lastly, we’ve learned that the individual responsible for this incident has a history of run-ins with law enforcement.
