🍻 We're Hiring – Experienced Full-Time Front of House Team Member 🍻
The Half Moon Inn, Balcombe is a beautiful country pub in the heart of the picturesque Sussex village of Balcombe. We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome, excellent food and drink, and genuine hospitality in a relaxed village setting.
Despite our rural location, we're exceptionally easy to reach. Balcombe station is served by Thameslink, with direct trains from Brighton through London and on to Bedford. We're also less than 10 minutes from the M23 and just 15 minutes from Gatwick Airport, making us an ideal workplace for those travelling from across Sussex, Surrey and South London.
We're looking for an experienced full-time Front of House professional to join our friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an independent country pub and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be scheduled for five shifts per week, covering a mixture of solo and team shifts, so you'll need to be confident working independently as well as being a great team player.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous front of house experience in a quality pub, bar or restaurant
• Confidence in all aspects of bar operation, including cellar management and line cleaning
• A good understanding of food, wine, beers, spirits and customer service
• A positive, friendly and professional manner
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
• High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
• Reliability, flexibility and a strong work ethic

Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Running the bar and preparing a wide range of drinks
• Cellar management and maintaining beer quality
• Taking food and drink orders and serving guests efficiently
• Opening and closing the pub when required
• Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout the bar and customer areas
• Daily cleaning duties and ensuring the pub is presented to the highest standard
• Working closely with the management team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
