Tonight at Woodfire, we’ve got a beautiful lineup of specials alongside all your favourites, and plenty of reasons to make dinner with us part of your evening.

One of tonight’s highlights is our Wild Sockeye Salmon, grilled and served with crispy arancini balls, grilled asparagus and a bright citrus beurre blanc.

We also have:
Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup, finished with sour cream.

A fresh Salad of organic greens and arugula with pink grapefruit, goat cheese, pistachios and crispy prosciutto shards, finished with a creamy apple c***r vinaigrette.

Pan Seared Brome Lake Duck Breast with a beautiful Italian plum sauce, sautéed new potatoes and wood fired vegetables.

Pizza Special with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Italian sausage, spinach, bacon, artichokes, red onions and smoked cheddar.

It might not be a patio kind of evening, but it’s a perfect night to settle in at Woodfire, enjoy some delicious food and spend a little time in good company.

We have some beautiful specials on the menu tonight:

Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup
Rich, warming and finished with sour cream.

Organic Greens & Arugula Salad
Pink grapefruit, goat cheese, pistachios and crispy prosciutto shards, finished with a creamy apple c***r vinaigrette. Fresh, colourful and full of flavour.

After last night’s storm lit up the skies, it looks like we’re heading back to sunshine for Sunday evening. Thankfully, most of our patio guests had finished enjoying their evening outside before the weather really rolled in. And judging by the number of furry faces under the tables, we may have had a dog at almost every table last night.

Tonight gives us another chance to make the most of these late summer patio evenings before they start slipping away.

The star of the weekend has definitely been our pan seared sablefish, and the reviews have been wonderful. It’s served on carrot and ginger purée with grilled broccolini and deep fried gnocchi tossed in our Gulf Island Lemon Pepper seasoning, then finished with citrus beurre blanc and balsamic pearls. A beautiful plate, and one that has quickly become a favourite.

We also have our Seafood Grill with wild sockeye salmon, jumbo prawns and scallops, grilled and finished with lemon herb butter, roasted potatoes and wood fired vegetables.

And for our vegetarian guests, tonight’s pizza special is seriously loaded: tomato sauce, mozzarella, pesto, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, black olives, grilled asparagus, artichokes, eggplant and zucchini. Definitely not the token vegetarian option.

It’s Sunday, we’re closed for the next two days, and there are only so many warm evenings left to sit outside with a glass of w**e and dinner on the patio.

Woodfire is open today from 4–8 pm.

Dogs are always welcome on the patio — preferably under the table, strategically positioned to catch anything that happens to “accidentally” fall their way.

It’s the end of the work week and that sounds like a very good reason to let someone else do the cooking tonight.

Come and settle in at Woodfire, enjoy a glass of w**e or one of our handcrafted cocktails, and make a night of it.

We have two beautiful house made soups to start:

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup�Finished with sour cream and fresh parsley.

Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup�Rich, roasted and served with croutons.

And if you’re looking for a reason to make the trip to Woodfire tonight, our Pan Seared Sablefish might just be it.

Pan seared sablefish served over a silky carrot & ginger purée, with deep fried gnocchi tossed in our house made Gulf Island Lemon Pepper seasoning, broccolini and asparagus, finished with a citrus beurre blanc and balsamic pearls.
It’s an absolutely beautiful dish, both on the plate and to eat, and well worth a visit.

Tonight’s Seafood Grill is another great choice:
Wild Sockeye Salmon, Jumbo Prawns & Scallops�Grilled and finished with lemon herb butter, served with roasted potatoes and wood fired vegetables.

WE’RE HIRING – FULL-TIME LINE COOK

Woodfire Restaurant on Gabriola Island is looking for a professional, reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy line cook to join our team for an immediate start.

Previous professional kitchen experience is preferred, along with strong culinary skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a genuine willingness to learn and work hard. We’re looking for a positive team player who takes pride in producing quality food and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Evening and weekend availability is essential.

Pay: $19–$23 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips and staff meal.

Applicants must either live on Gabriola Island, have accommodation arranged here, or be able to commute reliably from Nanaimo for all scheduled shifts.

Applicants must already be legally entitled to live and work in Canada. We cannot provide accommodation, sponsorship, LMIA support, or work permit assistance.
