❄️ The final 5 days of the Alaska State Fair! 🎡🍦

You can definitely feel it now… fall is here. 🍂

The mornings are crisp, there’s snow on the ground up at Hatcher Pass, and you can see a little dusting on the mountains behind the Fair. It’s such a beautiful time of year at the Alaska State Fair. ❤️

We have some beautiful Fair days ahead, along with a few wet ones, but no matter what the weather brings, we’re ready to make the most of these final 5 days!

We also want to ask for a little extra patience and kindness with our staff as we head into the home stretch. Many of our employees are students who are also juggling school, and several are working multiple Fair jobs. These last days can be long, and we know everyone is tired — but they are showing up and giving it their very best. ❤️

We’re going to give these last 5 days everything we’ve got!

NOPE… THIS IS NOT ANOTHER SIBLING DUO! 😂

This time, we’ve got a MOTHER-DAUGHTER DUO! ❤️🍦

Three years ago, Starr joined the Divine Dips family, and today, her daughter Aliyah officially joined the team! And getting to see these two working side-by-side for the first time is pretty darn special. 🥹

Apparently, at Divine Dips, when one family member is awesome… we just keep hiring the family. 😂

After SO many amazing name suggestions and votes, our two bears finally have names! 🎉

🍌 CHUNK — suggested by Jill Motz
🍦 TOFFEE — suggested by Erin Korn

We think these two names are absolutely PERFECT for our bear duo! 🐻❤️

And a special shoutout to my sister, who also suggested Toffee… but since she already gets free ice cream, she’s going to have to sit this one out. 😂😂

I don’t think a video could ever truly capture this mural. 🥹✨

There is SO much detail, color, and heart in it, and honestly, it’s something you really need to see in person to appreciate fully.

I’m still in awe of it every single morning when we open the booth. ❤️ What started as an idea for a wall has become one of my absolute favorite parts of our new home at the fair.

I can’t wait to stand here, look at it, and enjoy it for many, many years to come. 🥰

WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED ON THE “DARK DAYS” 😂🍦

The Alaska State Fair may be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean things slow down around here! These are the days I get to catch up on all the things that are nearly impossible to do when we’re open.

So, here’s what I managed to knock out during our two “dark days”:

🧺 Apron wash: 2 loads and 50 aprons… that somehow always come out more tangled than they go in. 😂 Thank you Molly, for untangling and folding them!

🪣 Bucket wash: 45 buckets scrubbed and ready to go! Thank you again Molly!

🛒 Costco run: 60 boxes of Oreos to crush, plus a whole lot of other supplies. Thank you Ashton!

🍦 Last ice cream bar haul of the season: Loaded into the walk-in freezer! Thank you KayLynn, Molly, and Ashton!

🫐 Wildberry sauce: Made a fresh batch for our wildberry lemonade.

🍫 25 buckets of blended chocolate: Moved onto the fairgrounds and ready for dipping! Thank you Ashton!

🏥 Mom duty: Got Ashton to his knee MRI appointment.

🔧 Appliance repair: Fixed my washing machine. Because apparently I needed another job. 😂

🧽 Deep cleaning: The booth and freezers got a serious scrub-down. So did my home 😉

And now… we’re READY for the next five days! 🙌🏼

These two days may be called the “dark days,” but they’re anything but dark around here. They’re the days that let us reset, restock, clean, repair, prep, and get everything ready to do it all over again.

🏆 WE WON MOST IMPROVED! 🥹🍦

Our 40th year at the Alaska State Fair just became even more special! We are incredibly honored to receive the Vendor Award for Most Improved!

When I dreamed up this new booth, I knew I was taking on a HUGE project, and volunteering my husband for the ride too! 😂

I wanted to honor the 39 fairs that came before, create something new as the second owner, and honor Pat, the original owner, and everything she started.

During the 2025 Fair, I prayed a lot about this decision. When our old building sold, I knew it was confirmation that this was the right time. There was no turning back—we were building a new booth for 2026!

And we absolutely didn't build it alone. ❤️

Happy Birthday to our amazing Aliyah! 🎉🍦❤️

Aliyah has absolutely been crushing it at the fair! From her very first day to now, she has grown by leaps and bounds. She has become such an incredible multitasking Dip, keeping up with customers, staying tidy, and somehow making it all look easy!

She is amazing with our customers, and has become someone we can truly count on when things get crazy busy. Watching her gain confidence and grow into such a strong member of our team has been so much fun.

Aliyah, we are so proud of you and everything you've accomplished this summer! We hope you had the BEST birthday! 🥳❤️
