Why political language often works best when it stops sounding political

In the grand scheme of things being and isn’t that hard. Still, sometimes I just want a dark chocolate fudgy brownie, and at those times it seems everything conspires against me. 🎻 for me, I know. I finally got tired of complaining and got to baking. Here is the result.
It’s dark, it’s fudgy, it’s much less sweet that our conventional brownie. It’s perfect.

I don't like everyone in the revolution. I don't agree with everyone in the revolution. I've got quite a few people on my block list who're part a' the revolution cuz I just don't wanna bother with 'em. But when it comes ta gettin' stuff done, I try ta unite with everyone. Unless, a' course, those people make it impossible ta unite with 'em without alienating an' drivin' away even more people.

Praxis has gotta be pragmatic. Ideological purity is what theory is for. But praxis is all about pragmatism. How do we make the world better. Praxis'll always involve people we don't like, an' it'll always involve compromise. An' we make those sacrifices cuz they save lives an' reduce sufferin'.

That don't mean ya' should silence yerself! Speak up fer yer ideology! A healthy left is all about dialectical materialism, the clash of ideas. That's how we learn, that's how we understand each other, that's how we unite together.

But at the end a' the day, we gotta unite with everyone we can... except the ones whose toxic unity would drive out our other comrades.

(Art sampled from "Batgirl" Vol. 6 #19 by Tate Brombal, Takeshi Miyazawa, Mike Spicer, Steve Wands, Jessica Berbey, and Rob Levin. Edits: Dialogue, panel order.)
