Looking for fresh lunch ideas? Oh, they’re in the bag! For everyone back in the routine of work and school, we’ve got lots of quick and easy options. If you’re trying to get organized with your weekly meal planning and grocery shopping, how about:

Some Bi-Rite stories span generations. ❤️

Antonio joined Bi-Rite in December 2007 as a dishwasher at 18th St. Nearly 19 years later, he still enjoys his work at Bi-Rite Market and couldn’t imagine himself anywhere else. Now our Butcher Department Manager at Polk St., he’s one of the many team members who have helped shape Bi-Rite along the way.

Food has always been a big part of Antonio's life. Growing up in Honduras, his mom cooked for their community, and Antonio helped her sell tamales on the school bus. Today, he says, “I love working with food,” and his passion for it has taken him from the dish pit to the butcher department, where he now enjoys sharing what he's learned.

Now, Antonio gets to share his experience a little closer to home: his son, Jefferson, joined the Bi-Rite team three months ago as a dishwasher at 18th St., and he's already excited to grow within the company. Did you know that Bi-Rite hires about 90% of manager positions from within?!

“I am really happy that my kid has the potential to go up and learn.”

This National Food Service Workers Day, we're celebrating Antonio and the rest of our amazing staff who bring their skills, stories, and passion for food to Bi-Rite every day. We’re grateful to have each and every one of them on our teams, from our Markets to our ice cream scoopers to our chefs in the commissary kitchen.

Meet Coco Bananas, the winner of our guest sundae contest, inspired by the creator’s favorite banana and coconut cake recipes. After a very delicious round of judging by our pastry chef team, Coco Bananas came out on top! Three scoops of Roasted Banana get topped with toasted coconut, whipped cream, Marcona almonds, and of course, caramelized banana.

Coconut + banana = a pretty a-peel-ing combination, if you ask us. 🥥🍌

What’s up, Jimmy Nardello! This Italian-American pepper has a fun name and a devoted fan following. The peppers are super sweet, so they don’t pack any heat and char gorgeously. Did you know that they’re named after Jimmy Nardello, whose family brought the seeds from Italy and helped preserve this heirloom variety for generations?
