‘Stories From Home’ series at Merkado. Chef Shawn Phillips has spent years cooking in some of the most demanding kitchens in the country; Alinea in Chicago, and Atelier Crenn and Saison here in SF. In recent years, Chef Shawn has taken a step back from those Michelin kitchens in order to create something closer to his heart with his highly lauded pop-up which was awarded ‘Best Pop-Up’ in 2025 by Eater SF 🥇

‘Sunday Cleaning’ is an homage to Shawn’s childhood and the weekly ritual of his family cooking, eating, listening to records, and cleaning the house together in preparation of the week ahead. It’s that time again for another night with PacificSmoke for our Sunday Supper series at Merkado! This SUNDAY 4/12 from 4-8pm Chef Toby will be whipping up some chicken wings with thai basil, an heirloom tomato salad with yuzu whipped ricotta, and ahi tuna with coconut-lime and chili crisp, alongside some short ribs, bbq chicken, and more!
