As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, we're celebrating the places where our nation's story continues to live.

Through Landmarks of Legacy, we invite you to experience history where it happened—and at Asilomar, that history is all around you.

Between 1913 and 1928, Julia Morgan, the first woman licensed as an architect in California, designed 25 buildings for the YWCA summer camp. Today, 11 remain, including the historic Phoebe Apperson Hearst Social Hall, pictured here. With its unpainted redwood paneling, soaring windows overlooking the dunes, and grand stone fireplace, Social Hall is a lasting example of Arts and Crafts architecture and a place where generations have gathered.
