Okay my adorably delicious little Petunias, please bear with me and scrolllllllll

First of all I saved the last of the magical “Melt” from Vincenzo to celebrate Labour Day…bye bye until next year.

Then tomato season is still in full swing and look how cute the burrata looks.

Then a little Cacio e Pepe with squash blossoms topped with crispy guanciale is exactly what every doctor ordered

And everyone’s favorite chicken cutlet with prosciutto, baby arugula, buffalo milk bocconcini and spicy honey closes the carousel.

Of course Nardellos and Squash Blossoms alla Romana and all your “go to” are here and accounted for

Not just 10 layers of meaty lasagna for this lazy Sunday eve of Labor Day, but fresh flash fried anchovies, scroll please, Negroni sbagliato, burrata with pizzella di pasta cresciuta, gluten free egg omelette ribbons SAUTEED in tomato basil sauce, sweet Jimmy Nardellos, and squash blossoms chicken parm and boozy chicken liver crostini.

It is a spicy chunky melt in your mouth tasty delicious heritage pork@shoulder and italian sausage ragú with fresh peperoncino calabrese and loads of love. I prepared way too much please come and help me finish it!

It is at zee spot and i was able to borrow the special pasta from a guest, listen to the end he is actually a petunia and super fun.

Small@batch Spaghettoni, wild Florida shrimps, mussels off the shell, vongole, spring garlic, sweet dolcyto cherry tomatoes, fresh peperoncino calabrese, fried zucchine romanesche, squash blossoms and super crispy taralli crumble…I mean come onnnnn.

The Hake is also saucy and divine in fresh tomatoes Puttanesca sauce with creamy, no cream, dried fava beans purée

Of course I am late my adorably delicious little Petunias but I did not want you to miss this very special Gnocchi to celebrate the first Thursday in September. How is it even September already?

Meat tuesday is upon us my adorably delicious little Petunias and rays of sunshine.

I have been preparing amatriciana for as long as i can remember, the real master is my brother gabriotosti and we like it spicy. We would eat it at the restaurant too. But I digress, bitey tonnarelli prepared here with love, are the perfect vehicle for this summery amatriciana, crispy Italian guanciale (face bacon), sweet dolcyto cherry tomatoes a touch of our magical tomato sauce, peperoncino and grated pecorino Romano. Saucy AF!

Trying to bring a little ray of sunshine on your Monday my adorably delicious little Petunias.

This smoky carbonara with squash blossoms is one of the terrible seasonal deliciousness we are having today, prepared with bacon because my mother thought guanciale was “boring” and with happy eggs with the most intense yolk, guaranteed magic because we need more of that in the world ✨✨✨

It is a very chill Sunday in the hood and Lasagna is front and center and we know. Whenever these beauties are available, I grab them, they are not local, they are wild and they are friggin’ delicious! I enjoyed them served this way at one of our many many many visits to FrenchetteNYC in its early days, that we adore, and I totally appropriated it 🫣😳 much props to the volcanoes of talent and all around badass riadnasr and Lee Hanson

And of course lasagna and good tomatoes and fiori di zucca and other hopefully edible things.

I know I know my little Petunias, Fish Friday is in full effect and I show you today’s Burrata with prosciutto because i like to see if you pay attention 😂😂😂😂. A little crunchy shaved fennel with the sweet Datterini and charred sweet corn seasoned to perfection with Sicilian oregano, fresh basil, evoo and love, over crispy grilled focaccia. You can have it without prosciutto!

The winner of the fish roulette is a meaty loin of wild cod that is perfect for a little a aglio, olio, peperoncino calabrese and all the seasonal heirloom tomatoes that are at perfect ripeness for this saucy dish.

And what can i say about the pasta? You gotta eat it to believe it

Petunias just a little example of what’s for dinner on this Wednesday. A true seasonal classic, only available when squash blossoms are around. Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe with squash blossoms and fried fresh artichokes heart, Roman AF, hopefully edible.

It is a gorgeous day and my adorably delicious little petunias and looky looky here what my Geo and I concocted for you. Bitey tonnarelli prepared right here are the perfect vehicle for this creamy, spicy, terrible sauce. Nduja, sweet “dolcyto” cherry tomatoes, fragrant basil from the market, a touch of our magical tomato sauce and some cream to bring it all together, topped with crispy nduja for all the feels. I hope you will tolerate this dish inspired by the Calabrese “Lupara” sauce.

And what about all the usual suspects? Nardellos, squash blossoms, late summer market salad and I decided that today we should be extra porketarians and I prepared tender, juicy, pork loin saltimbocca with prosciutto and sage because why not.

Sundays used to be for family, church, when applicable, a nice tray of the most wonderful little “pasticcini” and then a delicious lunch at home or at your grandparents or relatives. Everyone took a little extra care about their appearances and outfit “Sunday best” and lunches were endless. Children would sit at a different table and cousins were plenty. Not that this necessarily depicts my Sundays, literary license.

Next best thing is come over to Zee Spot it is our home and home to many of you throughout the years, today our lasagna is completely surrounded by other “Sunday” dishes like a spicy smoky chicken parmigiana and burrata with Neapolitan pizzella di pasta cresciuta plus all the seasonal usual suspects like squash blossoms and sweet Jimmy Nardellos.

It is FRIDAYYYYYYY and i was thinking this for pasta and local wild and chunky filet of Hake aglio e olio with mixed sweet cherry and datterini tomatoes and spicy italian cherry peppers with fava beans pure and sautéed spinach. Of course all the usual seasonal suspects are here for the duration.

Later than usual so i see who pays attention 😂😂😂😂 today for vegetarian Wednesday we are are serving Vermicelli Artigianali Pastificio Setaro alla Nerano. Not sure why every single person that had it for lunch loved it 🤷🏼‍♀️ but hey 😂😂

Also other things and this summery Sgroppino that is boozy, vegan and gluten free and highly likable, only pros!
