Buscemi’s has been a familiar, beloved name around Southeast Michigan ever since Paul Buscemi began selling his signature sub sandwiches in Detroit in 1956. As Paul saw it, the key to success was simple: Make and sell delicious food with a little bit of extra flair – and do so at fair, family-friendly prices. But once he perfected his original deep dish pizza and signature sauce, he knew he’d truly “made it.” People who tried it knew immediately they’d found something special, a taste they’d want again and again. Today, the Buscemi’s name adorns a variety of independently-operated franchised pizzerias throughout southeast Michigan. The three outlets which make up Buscemi’s of Monroe remain true to Paul Buscemi’s original vision: delicious, distinctive food made from high-quality ingredients and sold at fair prices. It’s a recipe for quality that generations of downriver families have counted on since 1989. Buscemi’s Monroe’s original owner, Rich Knapp, stepped aside in 2011. Larry Dorow, a loyal Buscemi’s Monroe employee for over ten years, took over the business, committed to continuing its tradition of quality, customer service, and community involvement. Buscemi’s of Monroe is a proud locally-centered business, an integral part of Monroe community life, and a traditional favorite of Monroe families.
