Day 9 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit.

These smoked pulled chicken empanadas started as a staff meal, earned a spot on happy hour, then got called up to the majors: the main menu.

Whether you’re the dishwasher or the head cook, your opinion matters here. We listen to everyone and give their ideas a chance. We only serve food we enjoy, regardless of whose idea it was.

Smoked pulled chicken, melted cheese, golden fried dough, and chipotle lime ranch. Not bad for a staff meal.

Tonight's the night, Mays Landing!

Nothing beats seeing our community come together for a tradition that's been going strong since 1954.

There's nothing quite like seeing Main Street packed with families, friends, and neighbors coming together for a night of Halloween fun.

Day 8 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit

Today’s pick: Loaded fries.

Some college memories stick with you. Mine apparently needed buffalo sauce and cheese.

What started as my fraternity brothers and me finding ways to spend our leftover dining dollars eventually found its way onto my own menu. I love that something we threw together back then is something I get to share with people now.

We list it as a starter. Your plans for the rest of dinner may change.

Just over 24 hours until the parade! Weather is looking perfect.

Who is signed up? Are we doing a float or are we dressing up? Did you know you can enter for both competitions?

Where are the pre-game parties? Are we stopping at Freddy J's Bar & Kitchen or Mill Streetpub beforehand?

Who are we looking forward to? The floats? The fire trucks? The award ceremony?

Day 7 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit

Today’s pick: Jay Jay’s Shrimp.

Getting to speak in Vegas was a great opportunity, but I went there to learn, too. Being around people like Chef Brian Duffy is a chance to bring something useful back to my own kitchen.

I just didn’t expect the shrimp to come home with a new identity.

That’s part of owning a restaurant. Be proud of what you’re doing, listen to people who can help you improve, and don’t get so attached to something that you can’t change it.

Especially a name. The shrimp weren’t answering to it anyway.

Day 6 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit

Today’s pick: Bavarian pretzel.

We’re predominantly a scratch kitchen, and this pretzel is one of the rare exceptions. If I had the room and equipment to make the dough ourselves, you bet your sweet butts I would.

Until then, I’m happy to pair a great pretzel with our housemade Cooper® Sharp American Cheese American cheese sauce. We may not make the pretzel, but we’re still putting plenty of ourselves into what comes with it.

Day 5 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit

Today’s pick: cheesesteak egg rolls.

There’s a reason I keep finding my way back to the starters. A cheesesteak wrapped up and fried crispy is a pretty good one.

These are supposed to be something you share with the table. I respect that idea in theory. In practice, you might want to get your own order.

One of my favorite things about this series is hearing what you already love and what you’re planning to try. Keep telling me. I’ve got a whole menu to work through and apparently no plans to skip a meal.

Not going to lie: this year’s Halloween Parade has more costume and float signups than we’ve seen in years. Maybe ever.

We are LOVING it. Who’s ready for Friday?!

Haven’t signed up yet? Do it today. Signups stay open right up until lineup, and walk-ups are welcome, but planning ahead makes the night smoother for everyone.

Day 4 of eating every item on my menu until more of you come visit

Today’s pick: crab rangoon egg rolls. Back to the starters!

Real crab, cream cheese, a crispy wrapper, and sweet and sour sauce. I remembered the napkin this time, so we’re making progress.

I could eat these all day, but owning a restaurant means remembering that my favorite isn’t automatically yours.

I’d much rather have a slightly awkward conversation at the table than have you leave disappointed and never come back. You’re spending your money and your time with us. I want both to feel worth it.

Your feedback helps us see the experience from your side of the table. Sometimes you notice something we’ve missed. That gives us a chance to make the next visit better, for you and everyone after you.

I love feeding people. Getting to know what you love, and what you don’t, is part of that.
