Losing five all-star employees to college this year really hit us hard. Like, we knew it was coming… but apparently knowing and coping are two different skills. 🥹

We have a great group of new hires in training, but we’re also juggling back-to-school schedules, sports, activities, and 47 different versions of everyone’s availability. 😵‍💫

Last night, Frydae got absolutely bitch-slapped with a skeleton crew. And yet, somehow they served the masses and resisted the urge to lock the doors and just walk away. 😂

So, thank you for your patience while we train, adjust, and piece together schedules with just hopes and prayers.

🍂🍁☕️ Early fallish Saturdays in Uptown Marion are a 10/10 experience.

Today at the Fryhole, however, it’s just two of us scheduled to do the work ordinarily assigned to six. One brings youthful stamina. The other signs the paychecks and wears under eye patches until we unlock the doors at 11.😂

Come say hello, and perhaps lower your expectations for how quickly we can refill the napkins.

Nearly 2,000 glorious consumers came through our doors this weekend 🥹😅🤩😵‍💫☠️.
Lots of you enjoyed one final opportunity to try our features paying homage to Mid-West State Fair culture:

🧈The Butter Cone slapped.
🌭The Foot Long Corn Dogs were 🔥.
🧄The Garlic Dill Pickle Curds achieved folklore status… and they’re staying awhile, we’re not ready to let go yet.

💜 The Purple Wagon - a one stop shop for all things kids’s clothing, gifts & toys… the absolute cuYOOOTest stuff!
🧱 The Jack - a whole LEGO experience, which frankly sounds like an excellent use of everyone’s Saturday.

🥹We love seeing Uptown continue to grow into the kind of place where you can shop, eat, wander around, entertain your children, buy them something you absolutely did not intend to buy them… and then reward yourself with ice cream. 😉

ALSO ALSO ALSO… to think people used to call this beautiful old building an “eyesore.” 😂 JUST LOOK AT HER NOW. Full of life, love, paying customers, and contributing members of the community.
