TLDR; we will not be at the CR Farmers Market this morning (9/5).

Alright y’all - today was supposed to be our last CR farmers market, but we will not there 😢 It’s Labor Day weekend, which means a lot of time off requests and life being lived, take a sick business owner into the equation and threading the needle just doesn’t happen this morning (making it to the market).

Owning a business is like one big decision tree on how to have the most impact without compromising your way out of business or digging yourself into a stressed out meltdown. I can’t remember the last time myself (Lexi) or Rex called out sick, but it is not something we usually allow ourselves to do. Trust that we mean it, we would be there if we could.

Go to the farmers market and buy the goodies! It is hot out but we will be looking back on a hot day like today in the dead of winter while we shovel the sidewalk wondering if we will ever feel warmth again 😅 but also, come by one of our shops for a delicious pastry & a coffee. Just because we couldn’t make it to the market doesn’t mean Chad hasn’t been baking since 2am or that Mike didn’t spend every day this week making 15+ gallons of cold brew a day to keep us stocked in both locations, as well as at the market, and restocking cold brew for our partners over at NewPi Co-op.

TLDR; our NewBo Uptown Coffee reopening is delayed.

POV you are trying to order at Uptown Coffee NewBo tomorrow, but the lights are on & no one’s home and you say to yourself “Where the cluck are they!?”….unfortunately, we will not be having our grand re-opening at NewBo tomorrow because we have a couple things to get this new build up to code 😬

Can you tell we are masking our sadness with humor? We are so bummed to not be opening tomorrow, it pains us to let you down, and it does not feel good as a company that employs ~20 people to not be open as soon as possible. We are hoping for Friday open, but we will keep you updated!

Do you want the good news or the bad news?

👎 Bad news: We are closing at NewBo from Saturday, 7/4 (tomorrow) - Tuesday, 7/14 - back open Wednesday, 7/15.

👍 Good news: We will be using this time to move into our BEAUTIFUL-BRAND-SPANKING-NEW-FINAL-RESTING-PLACE AT NEWBO (for our 2nd location, Marion remains as is). Double good news…this is a picture of our pink lamarzocco espresso machine that we are getting installed on Monday in our new spot 😍

After we get back open at NewBo we will really be able to start to building in our space. Think: food & pastry items, community stuff, activities. We’ve been reminding ourselves to be patient during the building phase but we are stoked to grow into the New Bohemia District neighborhood in our 2nd home at NewBo City Market 🏠💖
