We locked our doors for the final time at 8:00 PM on January 31, 2017. A huge THANK YOU to all of our loyal employees and customers over the past 31 years. We were able to give a full month's notice so our employees could find other jobs and our customers could come back a time or two (or three) before we closed. The rumor mill has been working overtime, as can be expected when a busy restaurant c
loses its doors! NO, it was not because of the new roundabouts in Marion. NO, it was not because our landlords wanted us out. NO, it was not because of the lack of parking. And the latest one we heard - NO, it was NOT because we couldn't pay our rent (we actually got a laugh on that one!)
We opened 31 years ago on January 8, 1986. My husband and co-founder, Tom Osborn died on November 6, 2002, at which time our daughters Teri and Nicole took over. They have both been a huge part of the restaurant since the beginning and did an excellent job of keeping our dream alive. I am so proud of what they have accomplished and cannot thank them enough for their dedication and success! However, when it came time to sign a new lease, after countless meetings and hours of heartfelt discussions, the 3 of us made the decision to close. They are excited to move forward to the next chapter in their lives - outside of that very special location on the corner of 7th Avenue and 10th Street! Thanks again to all of you, our employees and customers, for your loyalty and your part in making us a success! Just as our motto said: "IT'S MORE THAN A RESTAURANT, IT'S A TRADITION! WORLD FAMOUS SINCE 1986" You will be missed!
