Labor Day weekend isn't just about the food and wine around here. We're busy getting the cars ready too.
This year Alfa Romeo is the featured marque at the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival, and we'll be there.
Both the Alfa and the Lancia will be in the parade and then shown at Sunday in the Park Concours. We've been getting them ready, putting some miles on them and, of course, finding a few more things that need attention along the way.
That's old cars.
We hope to see some of you up there.
If you're heading to Lime Rock for the weekend, stop by 109 in Kent along the way. Check out the WKNDDRVR gallery, have some lunch or grab some cheese, sandwiches and picnic goodies for the weekend. We're just a short drive away—and it's a pretty good drive.
There's also lots happening with our friends at Petrolicious. Look for our upcoming article and the short film we recently did with them. We're looking forward to finally sharing both.
So yes, we're getting ready for Labor Day too.

Still Taking the Long Way...
Before every great drive, there's a quiet moment in the garage.
A map spread across the table. A picnic basket waiting by the door. The excitement of wondering what you'll discover along the way.
We're about to head out on our first little adventure.
A cheesemaker.
A distillery.
A beautiful park.
A picnic.
And, of course... a drive.
It's never really about the destinations. It's about meeting the people behind the craft, hearing their stories, discovering places you might have driven right past, and reminding ourselves that some of the best memories are found when you take the long way.

Still Taking the Long Way...
Last week we mentioned that we've been quietly working on something that's been close to our hearts.
This week, the garage changed.
One chapter found a new home, making room for another that has been years in the making. It's a project that will take time, patience, and a little detective work—but that's part of what makes it so exciting.
Like so many things in life, it isn't about getting there as quickly as possible. It's about uncovering history, meeting interesting people, discovering unexpected places, and collecting stories along the way.
Some journeys begin with a road. Others begin with a story. We think the best ones have both.
We're still putting the finishing touches on exactly how we'd like to share it with you, but one thing hasn't changed.
The road is still the point. The destination is still the reward.

We're Taking the Long Way...
For years, Monica and I have believed that some of life's best memories happen somewhere between the driveway and the dinner table.
Whether we're chasing a forgotten back road, discovering a family-run café, finding an artisan cheesemaker, or simply wandering into a place we never expected, we've always believed the journey is every bit as important as the destination.
We've been quietly working on something that's very close to our hearts—an opportunity to share the roads worth driving, the memorable meals worth stopping for, and the stories that happen somewhere in between. Of course, Bandit has already appointed himself Chief Co-Pilot and quality control for every stop along the way.
We're not quite ready to pull the cover off just yet, but we're excited to bring you along for the ride.
Until then... keep the tank full, the camera handy, and don't be afraid to take the scenic route.
The road is the point. The destination is the reward.

The doors are open in Kent, the patio is ready, lunch is being made, and the gallery is waiting for anyone looking to slow down for a bit. Come by for a sandwich, some cheese for the weekend, or just an excuse to take the scenic route.

The weather looks a whole lot better, so we're doing Cars & Cheese this Saturday because... well, we can.
