No better way to spend a day in Houston—surrounded by good people and good food at Texas Monthly's Taco Fest South.

While Chef Adrian and the whole team served up Cachetada de Barbacoa tacos to hundreds of people, we met so many new faces, spent time with friends, and passed out hats to rep the Maximo soccer team.

Next up, Southern Living's Hill Country Tailgate on September 26, and Southern Smoke Foundation's Southern Smoke Fest on October 3!

Houston is hot right now, and so is this list. Honored to make the top 25 of the summer from the Houston Chronicle.

What to order? Bao recommends the "whipped guacamole topped with tomatillo chimichurri and 'todo' seasoning, roasted oysters with green garlic butter and cotija cheese, and a crisp tostada with a shaving of bluefin tuna topped with toasted grasshoppers."
