We had the privilege of taking our littles to Washington D.C. a few days ago to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary. The National Museum of American History has on display the Start Spangled Banner, the massive 30x42 foot flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the British bombardment in 1814. It survived, and seeing it still waving the morning after, Francis Scott Key penned the poem that became our national anthem. Being able to see such an iconic part of our history only solidified our patriotism and increased our gratitude for those who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice their lives for this great nation.

Today is the day God blessed us with you, and even though you are no longer here, we take comfort knowing you are with God and interceding for us. We will be closed on Saturday, July 4th to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Birth of America! Our family's story began in Italy, but in 1905, with $20 to his name, 19 year old Alessandro Fiato boarded a boat for America. We are Americans because of his dream! We celebrate our heritage through our food, our stories, and the traditions that have been passed down through the generations. We honor our ancestors by remembering them, the lessons they taught us, and the faith in God that they instilled in us. Below is a glimpse of our family's story.
