Nothing is more Fort Collins than Tour de Fat on a Saturday morning - so much vibrant love & joy. Today that love & joy was stricken with grief.

As our hearts remember today with both joy & grief - we hold space for all who heard the sirens this morning, each person that watched the devastation in front of them, each body physically injured, and each heart of the person's known to the deceased.

Those quiet moments after the open sign is turned off & the doors are locked. Questioning if you made a difference that day with a warm drink to warm your soul.

The young person moving into their dorm room Colorado State University eager to start a new adventure, but cherishing one last ice cream with mom & dad.
The gentleman with a cane and a twinkle in his eye because he is seen and loved!
The little boy celebrating the first day of kindergarten watching in wide eyed awe as fresh cream becomes ice cream before his eyes.
The older women giggling like school girls over cups of tea & coffee enjoying one another's company.
The young man in the corner probably stressed by the demands of life working hard with his headphones on and coffee in hand.
The unhoused man who after the first sip of an arnold palmer made with our hand-squeezed lemonade smiled and exclaimed "this tastes like my grandma's!"

Back-to-school week is HERE.

This week, my youngest starts 4th grade, my oldest is moving into the dorms for his first semester of college 😭, and so many of our amazing Tandem employees are heading back to school, too.

So many changes. So many feelings. So. Much. To. Do.

My personal survival strategy? A quad-shot, 16 oz iced latte. Maybe two.
