Taking a moment to brag on my sister. Erin has always been a huge advocate for education and learning. She is so incredibly smart and blows me away constantly. I am so proud of her! Thanks NCCS, for giving us the best beginning to our education. Though I will disagree with one thing she said, my favorite cafeteria food was the turkey gravy over mashed potatoes! ๐๐
Congratulations, Erin!
Once a Viking, Always a Viking! ๐งก๐ค Catch up with featured alum Erin Zerbe Herrman!
๐ Class of 1998
๐ Satellite Beach, Florida
๐ซ Chief Cardiovascular Perfusionist
๐ซ How did NCCS prepare you for this role?
"North Canton gave me every opportunity to excel and expected all their students to. Coming from a blue collar family where education was not a focus, I am thankful for the caring teachers and directors that pushed us students to do more and be more. NCCS made me believe that I could do whatever I put my mind to, as I was taught study skills, effective communication, leadership traits, the value of collaboration, and to always strive for excellence even in a high-stress environment."
๐ฌ Advice for our current Vikings:
"Understand the value of your education! What you put into your own education is what you get out of it! Engage in all the opportunities!"
๐ Who at NCCS inspired you?
"Mr. Pickle and Mr. Hobe inspired me to dig deeper within myself to really learn science and they prepared me for this crazy career where I always expect the unexpected and I am always mentally engaged and ready for any case to come into the hospital- just like their pop quizzes! Mr. Steve Denlinger helped me quickly identify and articulate my thoughts, which I use everyday in critical life-and-death situations. Mrs. Kimberley Melin and Mr. John Hayward inspired me to use my voice while Mr. McCleaster and Mr. Moore taught me to calmly and efficiently multitask with a smile on my face, even during high-stress situations."
๐ฝ What was your favorite meal in the cafeteria?
"The rectangle pizzas!!"
