Saturday’s menu is up and running on the website (the-monastic-home.com), and here’s our quote of the week: “Take time to see the quiet miracles that seek no attention.”

John O’Donohue is one of my favorite writers, and this quote especially resonates. Let’s see if we can keep our eyes peeled for little miracles in our everyday life today and always!

Hello! This Saturday I’ll be participating in a small business fair organized by my cousin, so we’ll be a couple towns over in Green (the details are in the attached image)! The menu won’t be as extensive, but we’ll have the staples: buttery parmesan scones, buttermilk biscuits, gluten-free oatmeal cream pie bars, jumbo chocolate chip cookies, shortbread and lemon pistachio olive oil cake. We hope to see you there!

“If there were no sacred bind which united humankind... how empty and comfortless then life would be!”
—Soren Kierkegaard

This seemed like a fitting quote to ring in 4th of July festivities for this Saturday! You’ll see fun items featured on this week’s menu (the-monastic-home.com), and every guest at the shop on Saturday will receive an entry into a raffle for a whole free cake of your choosing! Looking forward to celebrating with you!

One of my favorite rituals is preparing the shop on Friday evening for a smooth start to the day Saturday morning. Whether it’s writing the menu on the chalkboard, restocking cups or stamping bags—even the most mundane tasks feel special while the house is still and the anticipation of a new day is in the air.

While I enjoy the quiet Friday evenings, nothing beats the kinship of Saturday mornings. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Hello! In addition to letting you know that the menu for Saturday is up and running, I wanted to share something extra.

The Monastic Home is first and foremost about cultivating kinship and keeping in close touch with the simple beauties of everyday life. Therefore, rather than just letting you know when the menu is updated, I thought it might be nice to ritualize these Wednesday posts with a meaningful quote. Feel free to peruse the website (the-monastic-home.com) for this week’s menu. If nothing else, enjoy a dose of positivity in the feed! 😌

Modern life can have a way of exhausting our spirit! Therefore, it's important to have a cloister—a place set apart where we might be able to turn down the volume of the exterior world so that the whispers of our heart come through with greater clarity, surrounded by the comfort of like-minded ...

Hello! I hope everyone is having a lovely week! The menu for Saturday is ready to go, and feel free to preorder by emailing [email protected] by Thursday night.

Also, I wanted to note that the shop will be closed on June 6th. As a teacher, it’ll be my first official day of summer so I’ll be soaking in a bit of rest before offering more opportunities to keep the shop active during the summertime. Stay tuned!
