Very exciting news! It’ll be Gilmore Girls Day at the shop this Saturday! I’m eager to share the menu with you all tomorrow—whether you’re a fan of the show or someone who simply appreciates ringing in the fall season, there will be something for everyone.

“The Town Troubadour” will provide live music playing a lovely mix of Gilmore Girls hits and folk favorites, and Stacy has illustrated the sweetest autumn-themed cards for her little “Stacy’s Card Shop” nook. More details to come as the week unfolds, but for now—please do spread the word to all the Gilmore Girls fans in your life to mark their calendars for this Saturday! 🍂

Hello! Saturday’s menu is up! The noon closing time worked great last week—plenty of items to choose from all the way to the end, and I’m hopeful we can maintain that rhythm for you all. We’re also excited to offer some pantry-style items this season—this week’s being granola and homemade dog biscuits!

Lastly, I stumbled upon a quote this week that I thought I’d share in case it resonates:

Isn’t that lovely? Good reminder that we can carry it all, from grief to gratitude, and be all the stronger for it. Have a great week, everyone!

Hello! The menu for this Saturday the 12th is already up and running! I gave the website a bit of a facelift (the-monastic-home.com), so I’ll also leave the menu here since it looks a bit different than usual. 🙂

This Saturday begins an official change in hours—9am until noon rather than until sold out. I hope the change provides greater clarity, and we’ll aim to remain stocked enough so that anyone who comes to the shop won’t have to leave empty-handed!

I hope everyone had a lovely, restful long weekend! We’ll be excited to see you Saturday!

I don’t know about you all, but I’m eager for autumn to announce its arrival with cooler temperatures and changing leaves. Alas, summer remains upon us! This week’s menu has us dipping our toes into the cinnamon brown sugary-ness of fall, resisting the urge to fully dive into apple and pumpkin. Soon enough! You can find the full menu at our website (linked in the profile), and you’re welcome to pre-order.

As for next week, we’ll be closed for Labor Day weekend. The week after that, we’ll begin a slight tweak in our hours. We’ll have an official closing time of noon rather than closing upon selling out—and we’ll try our best to be sure things are stocked up enough to take us to that noon closing time! I hope the change brings clarity to anyone who might want to swing by but doesn’t know if we’ll be open—I hate to think of anyone making the effort to come only to discover a locked door!

We’ll be glad to see you Saturday, and wishing you a happy week in the meantime!

Hello! We are delighted to share the menu for this week—we decided to make it “Back to School” themed! We had a ball brainstorming nostalgic favorites, and it will be a joy to see it all come to life this Saturday. Lastly, if the theme inspires you to put together a teacher appreciation gift, Pine Road Designs will have the loveliest floral bouquets that would pair sweetly with one of the fully handmade cards from Stacy’s Card Shop (a new and heartwarming addition to the space that I’ll make a separate post about soon!).

Menu for Saturday is up at the-monastic-home.com! The items we’re most excited to offer are the tomato soup scones from my pal Hilary and the chocolate chip cookie dough cake made by my mom!

Also, get a load of these bouquets—these are from last Saturday and still thriving! I love the color and texture they bring to our little corner. Andrea will be offering these again this Saturday ($10 for paper-wrapped bouquets and $12 with a vase). See you soon, and have a happy week in the meantime!

Sneak preview of our mini flea market Saturday! It looks like rain, so we’ll have things set up either on the front porch or in the front parlor.

Lastly, Saturday’s menu is up and running on the-monastic-home.com! Rain or shine, it’ll be a charming day to gather together with all the Create on the Canal festivities. We’re lucky to live in such a quaint and community-oriented town. Looking forward to seeing you soon, and warm wishes for a happy week in the meantime!

This Saturday is downtown’s “Create on the Canal!” To get in the spirit of creativity, we’ll have a table set up outside the shop (or on the porch depending on weather) with a mini flea market. One of my favorite things about decorating a home is adding vintage details here and there to add texture, warmth and charm. Maybe it will inspire turning a little corner of your home into a cozy spot for sipping your morning coffee and reading a book. Who knows! In any case, we’ll be excited to see you Saturday for the festivities!

Saturday’s menu will be posted tomorrow (there will be cold brew with house made syrups and dot cakes)!
