The saying; “in the end, concerning people, they don’t always remember what you have said, but they do remember how you made them feel” is very true.
It is my sincerest hope that everyone who we either came to your door, or you came through ours over the past 4 ½ years that we have been either at the S.A.L.T.Box building or in our current location has walked away feeling loved and cared for. I am honored to say that our staff has put love into preparing every item that has left our kitchen.
For this reason it has been so difficult to make the decision to close our doors. I have not reached this decision lightly and I have weighed the options carefully. But it is now time for me to admit I cannot continue to deliver the type of service I want to give our wonderful customers with my affections being so divided between my family (near and far (Arizona) and running a business. My family has ALWAYS been there for me and they are the sole reason I had the brief but unique and wonderful privilege of living out my dream of running my own business. They believed in me, and I believe we created something to definitely be proud of!
I am so thankful to all our customers who over these years have become so much more than just customers. I am grateful for the friendships I have gained in both patrons and the wonderful ladies I had the privilege to work with. We have shared both the sweet (Fennel) and the bitter (Thyme) moments in life together, which is exactly the vision I set forth when I named my company.
I believe that life takes us on some crazy, unexpected turns and with it unexpected losses. Closing would be one of them in the past year for me. But in all this I believe in some unexpected blessings to come. Once this chapter for the cafe is completely closed, I will be available for baking orders and launching a blog page. I will launch these new items on the website and FaceBook page.
As for how you made us feel… I cannot thank the Canal Fulton community enough for such a warm welcoming of Fennel and Thyme to the community. I am going to miss being so closely connected to you!
In a couple of final business notes. First, we currently have a reserve of donated funds for meals that will be donated to a local food insecurity program. Second, if you have a gift certificate balance, please email [email protected] and mention GC balance in the subject line and we will reimburse you. Finally, I am selling off many items we have left. I will announce a day that these will be available if you are interested in something such as tables, chairs, kitchen items etc.
