We'll call her Margaret.

Part of a week-long effort to raise the support needed for our special events for hurting women. Each day I will share a story of a woman or a group of women that we've had the honor of serving in the past - because you need to know why your support is so important!!

This morning I can tell you that we've raised 50% of the needed funds to proceed with the scheduling. :) It's exciting to see God provide from the most unlikely places sometimes. I sat down and prayed about this week's needs this morning and I was not inside the church building 5 minutes before a lady sat down beside me and asked about my family. She then quietly handed me a bill and said, "We want you to have this for your ministry!" ☺️ I hugged her repeatedly, and felt the tears coming - for obvious reasons; but one of those reasons is that I've known her for years and really felt that she didn't care for me - and never did I expect her to do something like this: but God!!! He reminded me in that moment that He heard my prayers this morning, and He is speaking to the hearts of those that He wants to bless by their participation. That's pretty stinking exciting!

*In past years we have had businesses and friends help us host special nights for women that we know are walking in abusive situations and need a night of gentle, loving care. To do so, we've asked you to sponsor 5 women for $100 to cover our cost.
We would like to schedule another few of these private events - invite women from the shelters and whom we know could use a night out but cannot pay the $20 for our supplies.
We are going to put these events on the calendar for August, September and October and then a few more during the holiday season - a time that is especially difficult for hurting women.
Our volunteer crews are able to handle as many women as come and will work for as long as is necessary on these evenings.
If you would be willing to sponsor 5 or 10 women - please reach out!!! (Either here or my personal account (Joy Thompson Sexton) or text 828 553 9302. We are excited to share with you after each of these events how the Lord works!
