There are places you work, and there are places that are a part of you.
Republica has always been the latter.
After spending the last several years growing, learning, leading, opening restaurants, and experiencing this industry from a much wider perspective, I’m coming home.
I’m excited to share that I’ve returned to Republica full time.
Republica opened its doors in 2013 with a simple idea: create the kind of neighborhood restaurant we wanted to eat and drink in ourselves. Over the years, it became much more than that. It became a gathering place, a classroom, a family, and a little restaurant in Berkley that somehow kept finding its own way.
There will be some changes. There will be some new ideas. But the things that made Republica Republica aren’t going anywhere.
Good food. Good drinks. A little irreverence. Puns on the menu, and a loud Greek in the kitchen. And of course a lot of hospitality.
I’m looking forward to being back in the kitchen, back in the dining room, and back with the people who have supported this place for all these years.
