Beyond Kava - A sober curious hub for community and connection. Some consider it a medium between a java junkie and a beer buzzer. coasts.

Kava has been used to relieve anxiety, stress and insomnia. Kava can also be a safe alternative to alcohol as fans say it promotes relaxation and a cheerful mood without impairment. For centuries Pacific Islanders shared this magical drink called kava, by invitation only; then kava invaded the U.S. Now kava has a foothold on the Third Coast — SquareRüt; the first kava bar in Texas. Kava is like nothing you have experienced, (not legally anyway).

The Magic Behind Your Favorite Kava Experience

Ever wondered what makes your kava shell so special? It’s all about those incredible compounds called kavalactones!

Kavalactones are the active ingredients in kava root that create that sense of calm, connection, and “being in the moment” that our community treasures. These natural compounds interact with your brain’s neurotransmitters to promote relaxation without clouding your mind.

🌿 They create our signature experience - that warm, subtle euphoria and social ease that keeps our community coming back
🌿 Different kava strains have unique kavalactone profiles, which is why some varieties feel more uplifting while others are more grounding
🌿 Quality matters! We carefully source kavas with optimal kavalactones content for the best experience
🌿 Unlike alcohol, kavalactones promote connection without impairment - you stay present, mindful and authentic

Tax season creeping up like… 😅💸

Deadlines, paperwork, numbers that somehow never get smaller… yeah, we feel you.

But what if you could take the edge off?
What if there was a way to actually relax while dealing with all that stress?

Oh wait… there is.
It’s called kava 🌿

Come unwind, clear your mind, and trade tax-time tension for calm, good vibes, and a little “you got this” energy.

Because taxes might be unavoidable…
but stress doesn’t have to be. 😉

One of our favorite island memories didn’t happen on a beach… it happened on the way to the airport.

Our taxi driver made an unexpected stop and took us to where the local drivers gather. No tourists. No rush. Just a circle, some shells, and a whole lot of heart.

We sat with them, drank kava, and listened.

They shared stories about what kava means to them—community, connection, respect, and tradition. It wasn’t just a drink… it was a way of life. A way to slow down, be present, and truly connect with the people around you.

That moment stuck with us.

It’s why we do what we do at SquareRüt—bringing a little piece of that feeling back home. 🤙

Come sit. Stay awhile. You might leave with more than just a drink.

At SquareRüt, everything we do traces back to moments like this.

Sitting in Vanuatu 🇻🇺, watching kava prepared the traditional way—by hand, with intention, and deep respect for the culture behind it.

And yes… it was STRONG.

But that’s the beauty of it. Kava isn’t just a drink—it’s a feeling.

Calm. Connection. Community.

If you haven’t experienced kava yet, consider this your sign.

Pull up a chair. Grab a shell. Welcome to the ritual. 🌿

Before it was in a shell… it was a root. 🌱

Kava has been used for centuries as a natural way to relax, connect, and be present. No alcohol. No hangover. Just grounded, feel-good energy.

At SquareRüt, we’re proud to share this plant medicine with our community—one shell at a time.

Pull up a chair. You belong here.
