Yesterday, we said goodbye to someone who meant so much to all of us.
Mildred was many things, a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and a cherished member of our Grace's of Anderson family for more than 20 years. She worked alongside her sister-in-law, Sybil (the owners mother), helping create the fried pies so many of you have come to love, along with countless hours of preparing food behind the scenes.
If you knew Mildred, you knew her heart. She loved baking, thrift shopping, and finding little treasures to brighten someone else's day. No matter your interests or hobbies, she always seemed to have something tucked away in her car that made her think of you. Giving to others came naturally to her.
She was one of the hardest working people you'll ever meet. Her feet hit the floor every morning at 90 miles an hour, and she didn't slow down until it was time for bed. She approached every day with purpose, energy, and a servant's heart.
The holidays were especially dear to her. She looked forward to decorating Grace's each season, filling the restaurant with warmth and joy. Her gentle spirit, kind smile, and unwavering work ethic touched everyone around her.
Mildred, you weren't just family by name, you became family to so many of our employees and customers over the years. Your legacy lives on in the memories you've given us, the kindness you shared, and the love you poured into this place.
