A familiar Ambridge business is getting a new name and a fresh look.

After 44 years, Strano's ACE Home Center is becoming Strano's ACE Home Center.

In announcing the change, the Strano family said:

“New name, fresh look, same hometown hardware you can count on.”

The family says changes will take place throughout the store over the next several months, with customers seeing more product selection, promotions, rewards and lower prices.

What they say won’t change are the familiar faces and their commitment to serving the Ambridge community.

David, Lauren, Frank and Christine Strano also thanked generations of customers who have supported the business throughout its 44-year history.

We absolutely love this new artwork on Merchant Street! ❤️
You can see it from blocks away as you’re driving through town, and it’s such a great addition to Ambridge.

We want to make sure the artist gets some love, too. if you know who created this mural, tag them in the comments so we can give them proper credit!

Parking

The section of State Street in front of the Legion, and our parking lot will be closed for the day of the event. Attendees can park on other sections of State Street or other side streets, or in the Pizza Hut plaza below the Legion, and walk up to the event from there.

Handicap accommodations can be made the day of, please see one of our members directing the car cruise parking for that information!

Ambridge Community Together and the Ambridge Rotary Club are helping local students get ready for school!

The Ambridge Rotary Club will have about 100 clear book bags to give away today from 4–6 PM at Ice Cream Therapy on Merchant Street, while supplies last.

Savory Station Brings Comfort Food and Lobster to Ambridge

June Saluen, affectionately known by Ambridge residents as “June June,” is the owner of Savory Station, a comfort-food truck specializing in lobster dishes, especially lobster droppers.

June June has always loved cooking but said it took time to discover her niche. The food truck previously belonged to her sister, who moved to Florida. When the opportunity fell into her lap, she decided to make it her own.

“It’s the best thing I’ve done so far,” she said. “I’m loving it.”

Savory Station is located at 284 Fourth Street, across from the Fourth Street Beer. The truck is usually open from 5–10 p.m., two or three times a week, between other events and locations.

Most menu items range from $10–$12, while lobster servings are $22.

June June has lived in Ambridge for 10 years and says she fell in love with the community. Follow Savory Station on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for its weekly schedule.

Is there a solar eclipse visible above Ambridge right now? Yes! Is it dramatic and amazing? Well, perhaps not. While portions of Greenland, Iceland and other parts of Europe are experiencing a full eclipse, our area is only experiencing about a 3% coverage of the sun by the moon.

This photo was taken at about 1:45, which was the peak of the eclipse in our area (which has also been hindered by strong cloud cover). If you want to catch a glimpse, watch between the clouds with proper eyewear between now and the completion of the eclipse at 2:27 ET this afternoon.
