Goodbyes are never easy.

Today we’re sending off someone who has been such a special part of Merchant.

Over the past year, Michaela has poured far more than beautiful lattes. She’s poured kindness into our customers, encouragement into our team, and joy into the everyday moments that make this place feel like home. Her warm smile, genuine heart, and steady presence have touched so many people who walked through our doors.

It’s often said that coffee brings people together, but it’s the people behind the bar who make them want to come back. Michaela has been one of those people.

While we’re incredibly sad to see her move on, we’re even more grateful that we got to be part of her journey. We can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for her, because we know she’ll continue to brighten every place she goes.

If you’ve ever been greeted by Michaela, enjoyed one of her lattes, shared a conversation with her, or simply appreciated the warmth she brought to Merchant, we’d love for you to leave her a little love in the comments. 💛

Some people leave fingerprints on a business.

Pat is one of those people.

When we began building the kitchen at Merchant, it wasn’t just recipes and equipment that needed built. It was systems, standards, countless early mornings, problem solving, long days, and a whole lot of faith that we could create something special.

Pat has been a huge part of that journey.

His work behind the scenes has helped shape the kitchen into what it is today, and many of the meals you’ve enjoyed over the years carry a little piece of his dedication. He has shown up, worked hard, cared deeply, and helped us grow through every season.

While we’re incredibly sad to see him go, we’re also deeply grateful for everything he has poured into Merchant. Businesses are built by people willing to give their best, and Pat has certainly done that.

Please join us in wishing him nothing but success as he begins his next chapter. We know he’ll bring the same work ethic, kindness, and commitment wherever life takes him.

Pat, thank you. Truly we do love you and are where we are today because of you. It wasn’t always a daydream or walk in the park but that’s real life, that’s family.

Thank you for believing in this little coffee shop as it grew into something much bigger. Thank you for your patience, your grit, your countless hours, and for helping lay the foundation of the Merchant kitchen.

Second Wednesday of The Evening Ritual.

All I can say is this is going to be something special!

I feel it deep in my soul.

Fresh baked Banana Date Bread, just pickled some veggies to add to the Merchant Board, the mocktails are bangin’ and the music is ON FLEEK! People still say that??

So proud of my daughter and to have her by my side entering this next phase of the journey! So grateful to have the support and opportunity to be an entrepreneur in the community I love and grew up in!!

We will keep showing up for you because.. well we love you and we know you want this… 😉

Kitchen Update — We're Taking a Breath 🍳

Our kitchen team is taking some well-deserved time off this weekend, which means our full food menu will be on pause for Saturday and Sunday.

Fresh pastries • Bagels • Overnight oats

Your coffee will be just as good. Your favorite drinks aren't going anywhere. We'll see our kitchen crew rested and ready next week — and honestly, rest is something we believe in around here.

Event Update for Sip and Sound

Sip & Sound — New Date 🎶
We have an update on our Sip and Sound event — it has been rescheduled and we are locking it in on a date we feel really good about.

We know schedule changes can be frustrating and we genuinely appreciate your patience and grace. This event is going to be something worth waiting for. We can't wait to share the evening with you.

We're Closing for a Summer Reset Monday & Tuesday, July 20 & 21

We will be closed Monday and Tuesday, July 20th and 21st for what we're calling our Summer Reset.

Here's a little transparency, because you deserve it: Merchant is in the middle of a staffing transition. We are building the right team — people who align with our values, our pace, and the standard of care we hold for every guest who walks through our door. That takes time, and it takes intention.

We refuse to overextend the people who show up for you every single day. Rest is not weakness — it's how we come back better.

These two days are our chance to exhale, regroup, and return with renewed energy for you and for this community.

We'll be back on Wednesday, July 22nd — rested, ready, and right in time for The Evening Ritual. 🌙

From deep with in my heart: I call you MCCo Fam because that is what we have become. An extension of family. Having you use this space for your gathering, working, resting and playing has placed unimaginably joy in my heart. I am invigorated by those I see walk through that door day in an day out, your kind words and continual dedication to Merchant is the reason I keep pressing on, the reason I celebrate and honestly the reason for my personal growth. This road has been filled with ups and downs, pivots and transitions and honestly as glorious as it may seem on the outside, sometimes feelings of sadness and defeat.

Your New Evening Ritual

Hello, MCCo Fam!

When the workday ends, something new begins.

We’re so excited to introduce The Evening Ritual at Merchant: a softer, slower, more intentional way to gather.

This is not just an hours expansion.

We’re not simply staying open later.
We’re creating more space for connection.
More room to linger.
More opportunities to gather.
More reasons to stay awhile.

Because some of life’s best conversations don’t begin until after 4 PM.

The Evening Ritual is our invitation to slow down before heading home or to come out to gather with family. Meet a friend. Read another chapter. Order dessert. Stay for one more conversation. Let the day soften a little.

You’ll find thoughtfully crafted botanical beverages made with real fruit, herbs, teas, and house-made ingredients. Gathering plates prepared to be shared around a table, not rushed through on the go. Sweet endings baked with intention. Warm music. Good conversation. A place to catch your breath.

As we grow into this new evening rhythm, we’ll also be expanding our event opportunities at Merchant. Think live music, trivia nights, and curated evening events designed to bring people together in meaningful, memorable ways.

We’re not asking ourselves, “What can we sell?”

We’re asking, “What kind of place are we becoming?”

And we hope to become the place where your day gently winds down. Where real ingredients meet genuine hospitality. Where the pace softens. Where community gathers.

OPENING EVNING IS WEDNESDAY JULY 8th. We will not close our doors but transition the vibe and energy and keep the doors open until 8:00.
