The loss of Nirmal "Nimsdai" Purja and nine other courageous mountaineers in the Broad Peak tragedy is a profound loss for Nepal and the global mountaineering community.

From completing the world's 14 eight-thousanders in a record-breaking 190 days to inspiring a new generation to dream beyond limits, his achievements brought immense pride to the nation and admiration from around the world. He showed what is possible when ambition meets unwavering determination and carried the spirit of Nepal to the highest peaks on Earth.
The nine courageous mountaineers who lost their lives in this tragedy each leave behind stories of courage, passion, and perseverance. Their lives and contributions to the global mountaineering community will be deeply missed, and their loss will be felt by their families, communities, and fellow climbers.
