🎂 TODAY’S THE DAY… THE IN-BETWEEN TURNS ONE! 🎂

Okay… who’s cutting onions?! 😭😂

The cake is here.
The cupcakes are out.
The balloons are up.
And our 365 DAYS OF THE IN-BETWEEN memory wall is finished… 🥹🩷

And looking at all those photos has made us realise just how much has happened inside this little micropub in ONE YEAR.

There are customers, friends, family, ridiculous nights, questionable decisions 😂, cocktails, Sunday cobs, fancy dress, birthdays, Christmas, our Little Chef doing his thing… and probably enough alcohol consumed to float a reasonably sized boat. 🍺🍹😂

But most importantly — YOU’RE all over that wall.

Because The In-Between wouldn't be The In-Between without the people who have walked through our doors over the last 365 days. 🩷

🍾 TODAY WE CELEBRATE!

From 3:30pm onwards we’ll be doing our little birthday speech and cutting the cake. 🎂🥂

And we would genuinely LOVE as many of you as possible to be here with us.

Whether you've been coming since day one, discovered us somewhere along the way, popped in once, practically live here 😂, or have simply supported us by liking and sharing our madness…

Please come down and raise a glass with us.

There'll be cake.
There'll be bubbles.
There'll probably be Ali getting emotional. 😭
There'll probably be Andy pretending he isn't. 😂

And there will definitely be a massive CHEERS TO YEAR ONE! 🥂

🥳 IT’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION DAY AT THE IN-BETWEEN! 🥳

But before we start throwing cake around, popping bottles and pretending we’re organised… 😂🍾

We thought we’d take you right back to the beginning.

And when we say the beginning…
we mean BEFORE Andy & Ali had one of their “good ideas.” 🙈😂

📸 Ladies and gentlemen… THIS was The In-Between before it was The In-Between.

No blossom. 🌸
No warm lights. 💡
No bar full of booze. 🍺
No Little Chef. 👨‍🍳
No cocktails. 🍹
No Lola doing absolutely nothing useful while somehow remaining Employee of the Month. 🐶

Just an empty building…

…and two people standing in it saying:

“Yeah… we could definitely turn this into a micropub.”

😂😂😂

Normal people would've looked around, nodded politely and gone home.

Andy & Ali bought tools. 🔨🤣

And so began months of…

“Where’s Andy?”
— Building something.

“Where’s Ali?”
— Ordering something.

“Do we actually need that?”
— Apparently.

“Is that wall supposed to look like that?”
— We’ll cover it in blossom.

“Have we gone too far now?”
— YES. Carry on. 😂

Somehow, between the dust, paint, arguments with tape measures, approximately 6 million trips for “one last thing” and a rapidly disappearing bank balance…

The In-Between started appearing. 🩷

And looking back at these photos today is actually BLOODY MAD.

Because this empty little building became our little pub.

Then somehow… it became your little pub too. 🥹🩷

So before we show you the finished version, before today's celebrations properly begin and before Andy gets emotional after two pints…

This is the start of our WHOLE WEEKEND OF BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS and we’d absolutely LOVE you lot to come and raise a glass with us. 🩷

🎂🩷 WELL… WE BLOODY MADE IT! THE IN-BETWEEN IS ONE! 🩷🎂

Exactly one year ago today at 4pm, we opened the doors to our little micropub for the very first time.

Did we know what we were doing?
Absolutely not. 😂
Do we know what we're doing now?
Also absolutely not. 😂

But somehow, 365 days later, we're still here!

And what a year it's been. 🍻

We've had Little Chef Andy disappearing into the kitchen and emerging with food big enough to feed a small village. 👨‍🍳 We've had Ali coming up with another “I've had an idea…” approximately every 12 minutes — usually resulting in Andy needing tools, money or both. 😂

We've had Imogen, our cocktail queen, keeping everyone suitably hydrated. 🍹 We've had Lola, Head of Customer Relations, contributing absolutely nothing to the running of the business while somehow remaining more popular than the rest of us combined. 🐶

And then there's YOU LOT. 🩷

The regulars. The locals. The Sunday cob crew. The cocktail drinkers. The pint drinkers. The ones who come in for “just one” and are still sitting there hours later. The ones with their own unofficial seats. The ones who take the p**s out of us relentlessly. The ones who help when we need it. The ones who share our posts, recommend us, bring friends in and keep coming back week after week.

Some of you started as customers and somehow ended up as friends, unpaid members of staff and, quite frankly, part of the furniture. 😂

The In-Between wouldn't be The In-Between without all of you. 🩷

And we're not letting our first birthday pass quietly…
