9️⃣0️⃣th Birthday Celebrations 🎉

What an amazing milestone and to celebrate with family and friends this weekend was this 12 Inch fruit cake.

This is the biggest fruit cake I have ever made and was very heavy on the iced cake board.

Fruit cake was made a few months ago so I could feed it with Brandy before decorating in Marzipan and Fondant.

Ron's daughter sent me a lovely text and its always so nice to get such lovely feedback, which she gave permission to include in the post.

Congratulations to Abbie & Adam

Yeaterday they said "I Do" in the beautiful gardens at Wildes Inns in front of their families and close friends.

And what a beatiful setting for such a special day, the sun was shining and blue sky's. Surrounded by so much love.

They choose a 4 tier wedding cake with Victoria Sponge and strawberry preserve, Chocolate with milk chocolate bruttercream filling, Lemon and Elderflower and the top tier was White Chocolate and Rasberry.

The floral texture on the 2nd tier was my favourite, 1st time using an Angela Morrison embosser mat but it was amazing to work with.

Fresh flowers provided by the brides florist and they just made the cake pop with summer colours.

All lthe best for the future Mr & Mrs Price, hope you make many more memories and have a lifetime of happiness.

👀 Little Advertising 👀

So I was approached by our local Cricket Club to be part of their advertising boards to support the team.

It's something I've never done before but being a local club (literally 2 mins walk from our house) I thought lets do it.

And this weekend it was put up on the side of the club house so if you ever visit the club or walk through im sure you will spot me and the other local businesses.

Happy Anniversary 🍾🌸

Not my usual bake—and when my customer first asked for one, I honestly thought she said a tuna cake… which really sent my head spinning! 😂

After a little research (and a good old Google), I found a Mary Berry recipe—and if it’s good enough for The Great British Bake Off, it’s surely good enough for Pear Tree Cake Kitchen.

A Tunis cake is a traditional 1970s Christmas cake, originally from Scotland, often enjoyed as an alternative to the classic fruit cake.

This one is a beautiful lemon and almond Madeira-style sponge, topped with rich dark chocolate ganache and finished with marzipan fruits.

As this was made for an anniversary celebration, I decorated it with little marzipan letters and simple floral details 🌸

Let me know—have you ever heard of, or even tried, a Tunis cake? A first for me, but I absolutely love trying new things!

Today I made 40 fruit and plain scones for a new customer.

There was a cheeky spare one left so after a busy morning baking, what better but to treat myself to a fruit scone and a cup of coffee.
