The Well - update 4
✨ This project marks a significant step for community spaces in Derbyshire. The Well integrates local faith, community support, and social gathering into a single accessible location on Causeway Lane.
Overview of The Well
📍 Location: Causeway Lane, Matlock overlooking Hall Leys Park.
📅 Opening Date: October 7th.
Core Offerings: Community center, café, local chaplaincy, and a gathering space for worship and learning.
Key Figure: Reverend Ann Anderson, Methodist Superintendent Minister for Mid Derbyshire.

Something special is coming to Causeway Lane! 'The Well' Community Venue, led by the Mid Derbyshire Methodist Circuit, is officially opening its doors on Tuesday, October 7th 2026.
Whether you're looking for a space to receive prayer for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, or simply want to drop in for a warm chat over a drink, 'The Well' is here for you.

Building Update⛪️@
Work is moving along swiftly! ⚡️ electrical and alarm system fittings are right on track, with cables going in now to pave the way for the new kitchen and restrooms.

💧 THE WELL IS COMING TO MATLOCK! 💧
Update 2.
We are so excited to announce that 'The Well' Community Venue will be opening its doors on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 on Causeway Lane, Matlock!
Led by the Mid Derbyshire Methodist Circuit, 'The Well' will be a warm, welcoming drop-in space for everyone. Whether you're dropping by for a fresh cup of coffee, a friendly conversation, community support, or a moment of prayer when you need it most, our doors are open to you.
🛠️ Building Update:
Things are moving fast behind the scenes! The electrics are currently being fitted, with the mains control board safely in place and the alarm system being installed. Our architects have drawn up the designs for internal fittings, including the restrooms.
✨ New Life for Old Treasures:
We are lovingly recycling appropriate furniture from the recently closed Holloway & Matlock Methodist churches to bring warmth and history into the space. As Isaiah 61:3 reminds us, God provides "a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." We can't wait to see these pieces serve our community once again.

☕ EXCITING NEWS FOR MATLOCK! ☕Something new is coming to Causeway Lane! We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of ‘The Well’—a brand-new New People, New Places (NPNP) venue organized by The Methodist Church.

Whether you’re curious about faith, looking to get to know Jesus Christ wherever you are in life, or simply want to drop in for a warm chat over a cup of coffee, The Well is a safe, welcoming space for everyone.

💙 What’s in a Name?

Reverend Ann Anderson said, “The name ‘The Well’ refers to Jesus stopping at a well in Samaria to ask an outcast Samaritan woman for a drink. Jesus showed that His message is for everyone, regardless of social standing.
At The Well, we will offer a peaceful space where you can:

☕ Grab a drink and enjoy friendly conversation.

🙏 Receive prayer for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

🤝 Connect with our newly recruited NPNP Pioneer Worker, dedicated to working with people of all faiths and no faith at all.

🗓️ Key Dates & What’s Next:
September: Work begins on fitting out the building on Causeway Lane!

Tuesday, October 6th: Official Opening Day! 🎉
