Happy Heavenly Birthday to this legend!

Abdul Noor, the man who with his wife started the al-amin in 1983.

The genius in the kitchen who’s recipes were still being served nearly 4 decades later.

His decisions later in life led to us being closed however, had it not been for him we all wouldn’t have had those amazing memories at the restaurant.

You are truly missed,

Dear friends, we are still trying to find a new venue for the Al Amin. However it’s very difficult and we are now deciding to sell off stock.

We have beers available for sale. We are charging cost price. So if you fancy Mongoose, Cobra or Kingfisher, please get in touch.

We know you can buy these beers for similar prices in the supermarkets, however, we are asking for some support from our community.

Large Cobra or Kingfisher (660 ml) = £2.50 each or a case of 12 for £25.00

Mongoose (500 ml) = £2.00 each or a case of 12 for £20.00

The beers are stored in Bill Hall Green Grocers on Lauriston Road round about in South Hackney or “Victoria Park Village” as some like to call it.

Before the commotion begins and the networks go down, the Al-Amin team would like to wish you all a beautiful end to 2021, and all the best going into 2022.

Yes 2021 didn’t go as planned, it started in a lockdown, we’ve had people passing on, arguments about whether to take the vaccinations, and England didn’t manage to get over the final of Euro 2020, but there’s plenty to reminisce about and be thankful for.

If you’re still alive, breathing, eating, you’re a winner.

We have lost our trade, our business and livelihood this year. However, let’s be positive, if it’s it’s meant to be, we’ll come back stronger next year, if not, it just meant to end in 2021.

Thank you all for the support and love. Not just this year, but for the past 37 years! It’s so sad that we won’t be part of your celebrations tonight. However, have the best time but please be safe!

This time last year, we were sad cos we could only offer take aways and deliveries. We were missing you dining in the restaurant with us.

Fast forward a year and last year seems like an amazing time.

You never know how much worse things can get. So appreciate all you have.

We miss you guys sooooo much! It’s been heartbreaking considering we would usually be hosting Xmas parties and gatherings.

Enjoy the festive period! We’re doing our best to find a way to be open again.

When banks decide to repossess buildings or in our case decide to sell the building we’re occupying, do they care that usually, this time of year we’d be donating £2 from every bill to the Poppy Appeal?

Do they care that there are local children right now won’t be getting food as we provide food for school kids?

Do they care that we raise money for various charities?
