Hello, this is Gina, one of the owners of Gigi's Cafe here (the one on your far left)! I just wanted to leave a little to note to share that I have decided to leave the ownership of the shop, which leaves it in the hands of my dad Gino as well as our fabulous co-managers Giovanna and Michelle and our awesome staff (who are not all pictured here as we forgot to get a shot with all of us!). I'm not going to get too sappy as I still live in the neighbourhood and am planning to drop by whenever I'm in the mood for a coffee and a visit--but I did want to let you all know that it's been a blast to be a part of this little community cafe! I truly hope this place has been a warm, friendly spot for our regular customers and anyone who has happened to drop by. A special thanks to the beforementioned staff, who I'm sure will continue to put the same attention and love into their work here. Feel free to get in touch through [email protected] (the staff will pass the message on) if you have anything you're just dying to tell me, as I haven't been able to see all my favourite regulars over the last month!

One more week until our Songwriter's Circle hosted by the lovely Celina Silva. Another performer joining us is the talented Maita Waters.

Maita Waters is a singer/songwriter based out of Victoria BC. She was Victoria City’s 2017 Youth Poet Laureate, and has performed her music and poetry across Canada. Maita’s current project is her indie rock band Maitarra, which has allowed her songwriting to climb out of its folk roots into more a more rock sound.
Waters’ writing focuses on character depth and the human condition with the frills and thrills of love and loss.

We're really excited to be hosting the Songwriter's Circle (August 28th at 2pm) by the amazingly talented Celina Silva, who brought two talented performers to share the stage with, one being Rosina Filice.

Growing up, Rosina quickly learned that music is the language that she is most comfortable speaking (rather, singing) in. Starting out with a love for folk, pop, and jazz, she began using music as a vessel to carry emotions that she couldn't face - as well as a way to find her silver linings.
This, combined with a formal education in Musical Theatre leads to a quirky (or
idiosyncratic as her college professor put it) high energy folk/pop singer-songwriter.
