A little about why KNIFE and Blacksmith Cycle share the same space.

Two businesses, one room, built around the same idea: good tools, good objects, and the people who care about using them.

A well-made knife, a well-made bicycle. Both are designed to be used, maintained, understood, and lived with.

Different crafts, different communities, but a shared appreciation for things made properly.

And, if we’re being completely honest, I mostly wanted an excuse to spend more time with Mike.

Some things in the kitchen become essential before you even realize it.

Our Yakumi Pans are one of those things. Small, beautifully made, and endlessly useful. Once you have one, it’s hard to imagine cooking without it.

We were the first to bring Yakumi Pans into Canada, and they’ve been a KNIFE staple ever since.

One of those quiet pieces of cookware that just earns its place.

We’ll be closed Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.

There’s something about this weekend that always feels like a small turning point.

The light changes. The evenings arrive a little earlier. Summer begins to loosen its grip, almost imperceptibly, and we start to settle into another season.

Time has a way of moving quietly. Another summer gone, another year unfolding around us.

We’ll take the day to slow down, rest, and appreciate the people who make this place what it is.

Our fourth one to be exact.

It's been too long since our dear friend Tomo Hasegawa has come to visit.

This Wednesday - Sept 2nd (1-4pm).
Come hang with us and Tomo as we showcase a new line from Mcusta (so new it hasn't even arrived yet).

Free coffee, new knives, good vibes always.

Introducing a new series at KNIFE: Knife of the Month.

Each month, we’ll take a closer look at a knife we’re particularly excited about, getting into the details, materials, maker, and what makes it worth having on the bench.

First up, the Mcusta Zanmai Beyond line. A darling knife very dear to us from our good friends in Seki.
