"On eBay there's a listing for 2 photos from Harropian Books (Harrop online seller)... The shots were taken in the Marlane Grill in Castlegar c.1960 according to the listing.Ir one photo are York Mah (owner), a woman wearing an apron--likelv one of the Marlane wait staff. And Nelson folks will recognize the young man as Cameron Mah of the KC Restaurant (who sadly passed away in 2019). It's likely the photo was taken shortly after Cam came to Canada

York (Yorkie) Mah, who's not a direct relative to Cam, lived ir Nelson for a time too--he arrived from China at age 11 to 'oin his father Mah Soy Yuen--partner/owner of the Mar Sam Laundry in Nelson, B.C."

Typically we use pansies when they're in bloom. I've had a few people ask me about the flower that looks like a star, this would be a starflower!

These little beauties bloom off a borage plant and is a culinary and medicinal herb. ๐ŸŒฟ

A friend from Vancouver suggested these guys come in for a visit on their way through Nelson. They popped in looking for Russell to fire up some traditional Chinese dishes - Shanghai Noodles, Yang Chow Fried Rice, HK CHow Mein and Jumbo prawns in black bean sauce, and the OG did not disappoint!
