Wowza isn’t this weather spectacular! Happy to announce that the 2026 Patio season is RIGHT around the corner! We’re scheduled for a April 15th opening & with this weekends weather that cannot come soon enough! 35 years ago a couple of kooks approached the city to ask permission to put seating on the sidewalk/street. Council at the time thought the idea was insane and that ‘nobody would possibly want to sit next to cars going by’… the mayor at the time saw the brilliance & gave us the green light. In the spring of 1991 the Main Street Diner became the first restaurant with outdoor seating in Nelson, there’s been no looking back! Love how the city comes alive when the patios hit the street! Happy Easter!! 🐣 🐰 🪺
